He was a special guest on Deal or No Deal on tonight's episode. He turned down $200,000 and then he turned down $305,000.....and then at the end of the game he ended up winning only $25 !!!

Since they felt sorry for him, as an act of pitty, the show offered him a new car. But this is actually a bad thing. Because either

(A) he won't be able to afford the insurance payments, so he'll end up selling it for like $5,000, which is far less than the $305,000 that he could have had.

Or (B) he lives in a poor neighborhood so he'll proably get car-jacked.

LOL I just watched that too.  The guy thought he was destined for the $1,000,000 and it is extremely unfortunate that he didn't win it.  Pretty foolish that he didn't accept any of those huge ass offers though. :?

I think B: He must live in my neighborhood, Inwood(Manhattan) is a pretty crappy place to be.

At this age I would have gone for all I could have too.

He must have been in the same mindset as that.

am i the only one who felt like this guy was getting way too much attention. the problem with U.S. media is that a story comes along and its like BOOM, lets shove it down the whole country's throats for weeks. i mean what this guy did was amazing. he took a life threatening risk to save someone elses life and thats awesome, but i think people need to leave him alone. after it happened people like donald trump personally gave him checks for thousands of dollars. totally unnecessary. now i guess he's been on deal or no deal. all this attention is just going to play with his mind and he's not going to be that "hero" anymore. me thinks he'll be a jerk who expects people to love him forever and give him things now. IMHO

Wow, for a hero, he sure must have been a greedy bastard... Or was it his family that stupidly rooted him on to not take the 300k?  Seriously, 305k? I don't care if I had the chance to win 2 million dollars, I would take that right away...

Well, lucky for me, all I've heard about on the news was the Anna Nicole crap... Haven't really heard much about this hero in the past few weeks...

ok, lets look at this from a logical stand point.  The guy jumped infront of a moving subway train to save a complete stranger.  Of course he's going to turn down every offer he's a risk taker.

Apparently he's very humble, you guys are just being jerks about this. http://www.gothamist.com/2007/01/04/nyc_loves_subwa.php

Besides hes getting a lot of stuff anyway, and I don't blame the givers, what he did was EXTREMELY courageous. His kids even get scholarships.

Besides, this happened in January so anyone using the excuse of anna nicole smith blocking air time is stupid, also because they stopped talking about her 3 months ago.

Sounds like a band name.
