I just discovered thair radness recently. Anyone else like? I never hear people praising them, just bashing them and calling them emo. Because people are dumb.

Nirvana the band SOUNDS good, but they aren't really that skilled and fair or not they get blamed a lot for pretty much killing rock (I'm of the opinion they were a large contributing factor).

It's not that Nirvana is terrible or anything, its that there were so many better groups around at the time, like Alice in Chains as an example.

ANYTHING could kick emos ass any day of the weak except for Easy Listening

Compared to some black metal, I disagree. That is unless by emo you mean screamo, in which case there really is nothing worse.

Being from the Pacific NW, it was easy to get sick of Nirvana because all the radio stations up here played the crap out of their music. I still have a soft spot for them, though. I like Cobain's lyrics and knack for melody, but in no way do I look up to the guy. I honestly hope his kids do okay in life, inspite of their trashy mother's influence and their father's suicide.

i like them, i would think if kurt didn't kill himself/wife (i heard might have killed him, i was small when this happened) then people would like then a lot more then now. iam2green

Taking back sunday

There's a concert going on in Milwaukee and my friend met him and she let me talk to him on the phone and he's the raddest dude evar. srsly. We talked about restaurants because I live in his hometown.. I R SO HAPPY!!

Grunge rocks, and Nirvana certainly put out a lot of great songs. That being said, I enjoy the likes of Pearl Jam,Alice in Chains,Soundgarden,Ugly Kid Joe and many other bands that came out in that era.metallica_fan42

You're right though. They really weren't a super talented band. Cobains's lyrics were interesting and even good imo, and he wrote good melodies. He just sucked as a singer. I think Grohl was and is a better musician and singer, but I don't care for the Foo Fighters songs much.

On another note, I've seen a lot of the bands that came out of the NW back then and Pearl Jam was way better live than any of them. They just had this energy and no-frills honesty that mesmerized the audience. They made you feel good and stop and listen to what they were saying in contrast to other bands, like Soundgarden and Alice In Chains who seemed to hate the audience and life in general, the generic reaction of which was to form a mosh pit and beat each other up...who wants to pay for that garbage?
