Yes that's right there is almost no hope for marine life in the Gulf. Why?

Well the oil, which is in the Gulf, has 40% more methane than regular oil deposits. The methane has entered the Gulf and is suffocating marine life, and creating "dead zones". Or areas in the water not supporting life or able to support life in any way.

When i read this i thought to my self "Great, first they screw with our waters, and now they are screwing with our waters and destroying any life which has survived the disaster."

To read more about this new threat (click here)

a duck covered in oil

Turtle covered in Bp oil

Thanks to Bp.

Not they, us, everyone is responsible in some level for this tragedy. The Earth can't keep up with such a destructive species.

I don't think there is any response other than this to this thread. It's horrible what's happening, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop soon.

I can't agree with that at all

I didn't do this, I'm gonna assume you're not related to BP...It was BP, Halliburton, and the ineptitude of everyone involved with that oil rig. Not humanity as a whole. Why are so many people on this forum so anti-human

I'm with this guy, I've never even been near the Gulf of Mexico, as such I couldn't have had anything to do with creating an oil rig that broke there.

Someone can argue philosophics all they want, doesn't change the fact that I have never even been physically near the place, and as such, couldn't have had anything to do with it. Saying all of man is to blame for this is like saying that all of man is to blame for every murder that takes place in some back alley because man is a violent creature.

Why is the "man" a violent creature in the first place. Is it because of the society he lives in, and if that is so that includes everyone who has influenced him to do what he has done. Same goes for the Gulf Spill.

Indeed. The congress was doing the same thing yesterday with Heyward.

They are paying out $20Bn though. Besides that, I will agree it's just a lot of yelling.

Man's violence is an evolutionary trait, if not for violence man would have been wiped out upon first appearing on the Earth. Due to both predators and lack of food.

Violence for food is different than violence for self satisfaction. If man had violence in his genes then "Adam" and "Eve" would've killed each other.

You're assuming the Garden of Eden was a real thing, I'm assuming it's not, and as such, the first people would have had to fend off predators and hunt for prey.

this is going back to the creation of life on Earth.I don't want to get into that dicussion now. Still i think the Gulf spill was caused by the Bp, the Bp was supported by us because of our hunger for oil, thus it is also our fault that this Gulf Spill occured.

I agree. This wouldn't have ever happened if our voracious use and demand of resources (mainly OIL) didn't push companies to want to cut corners to make as much profit as possible. Sure humanity as whole isn't physically responsible for the catastrophe in the Gulf, but it's our demand and our extreme dependence on such a finite resource that creates these horrible accidents. Humanity NEEDS to move past oil, or when it's finally all used up we'regoing to be as screwed as the life in that ocean.

Well for starters who needs oil as a feul resourse (us). Who drives cars (us). Who doesn't have a green source of energy (us). That prooves that WE are responsible for this mess.

Couldn't they build some kind of barrier from Florida to the Yutacan so as to keep the oil from getting into the North Atlantic Drift?
