I'm a Muslim and although I try to defend my religion because I know the bases of it, I'm not religous. I mean, I do plan to be religous some day but I think the problem is that my whole life, my parents taught me to believe things just because I should. So I don't pray because of the right reason, I pray because I'm told to.
But there is a reason why I would like to be religous. I find that my religion preaches the right thing. It really did suprise me how much it cared about hygene, proper respect and attitude towards your fellow man and what not. This will ultimatly lead to a better way of life. The way I see it, even if all religion is fake, it'll give you a small guidlines on how to live your life in a certain way that should make you happier. Take that as you will. If you think doing as you please is the way to go then by all means, go for it.

this is exactly the same for me.
I'm Jewish. Conservative to be specific. I believe more in the cultural aspects than the religious ones, however, I'm more religious than most.B05T0NThat's sad.
Guess im christian because it seems to be the most logical religion to me, though its mroe of a relationship than a religion.123625
Are your Parents religious? Did they ever take you to church? Baptize you?
See thats what I don't get. So many people follow religion just because their parents do. Religion should be a decision to you make after you have thoroughly thought about it at and mature age. Not forced upon you.

Wow you athiest like to force that don't you? Yes they are religious but not heavily into at all, no i was not baptized, nor did they shove their beleifs on me (To much only some bible classes on Moses and thats it) and yes i once beleived there was no such thing as god and other things. But only recetly 7 months ago i realised that god is the most logical answer for everything and life in general. I looked around other religions sure but then i found Christianity the most sensical out of most of them.
And yes i am mature enough to think rationally and i am at a mature age.

can i second tht.....same religion and same case as him
i respect religion but personally u could say im "atheist" or "agnostic" cause i believe god is a symbol of the son if you watch zeightgeistmovie u'll understand hopefully... once again i respect religion and im not saying im right either but personally i believe religion was a way created thousands of years ago to get people to remember certian astrological occurences or to be good people... however over time people took it literally as something real/ tangible for example people believe the fish is because jesus wasa fisherman... however i personally believe it is mearly the time period we r in called the pisces which changes in 2020 based on zodiac symbols, throughtout versus in the bible most everything can be replaced with the sun and make sense... im not saying im right but to it makes sense althoguh very deep... it just seems to unrealistic and odd that religions have so many common grounds between "characters" or "gods" through out history not to mention there r so many different religions if one is truly right that would mean all others r wrong... where is the rationality? i used to be christian and im on the fence between atheist or agnostic. once again i respect peoples views and this is just what i believe no offense intendedTrojanMan10

I don't think he was talking about you.
Established religion is a joke. Any idea that there's a person god watching over you or something and you're gonna go to some magical place forever is just delusional. I could go really deep into existance and such but there's no point here.Lazy_Boy88
Wow must be delusional then.

I've heard all that stuff and stated before on this very forum. Difference is, I know what a paragraph is.
Not to offend you trojanman, I think you have some good ideas hidden in that horrific mess of words. Remember "I" as in "Me" or "The person who is not anyone else but me" is capitalized. Just remember, its hard for people to understand your points (Which in my opinion, aren't that bad) if its hard to read.

Couldn't have said that better myself. I'm Roman Catholic, but I still share many of your feelings.
pretty much where i am on the fence between im not completely ruling a god out but theres just not enough hard evidence for me to put all my faith in something not tangible to meI'm agnostic, but dont lump me in with these Atheists on the Interwebz. I find their arrogance obnoxious also.
