The gutar: Stratocaster 2003 made in mexico 60s

The Amp: VOX DA5 (new)

To the problem. I changed the pickguard and now when I play the strings hard i makes strange noise. Like a deep buzz or something, and no the strings do not touch the frets when pick them open. I've changed the strings for the first time on my electric, so maybe I did that wrong? the pickups are too low maybe?

Sorry for my rotten English.

All tips will be greatly appreciated.

Ah, I see your problem!

You should have learned to play drums.

Well feedback is a buzz sound cause by your guitar being close to the amplifier. Try to stand/sit a little farther away from the amp and see if it still makes the sound.

OMGZORZ TWINS! Anyway, yes, amps are notorious for buzzing after heavy use. Try turning the knobs down on your guitar and turning your amp up to get desired effect. If I'm right then I'll be a happy bunny.:D

Hmm ok so you don't have a fix for it I take it. Maybe I should get it replaced , the warranty is still good. The only problem is that it started with the buzzing sound after i changed the pickguard and the strings. I hope it is the amp because I really love the guitar.

It's definitely the amp. It's most likely old and worn out. I got my guitar in 2006 and didn't tweak it at all, so the modifications you made didn't contribute to the buzzing.

But the amp is new, like out of the box one month ago.

it's either feedback or just the way your amp works, if it's sill easy to pick out when you play take it back if it goes when you start playing then it's probably meant to be that way

Its the guage of the strings you put on, my friend put skinny ass strings on a zack wylde custom, and any of you who know him, know that zack uses super heavy strings, so his guitar buzz's like a bumble bee.

it's probably string buzz. you must have set up different gauge from what it originally had.

So now I tried it with my headphones on, and the noise is gone. As soon a i unplug an go with the amp it comes back. Almost sounds like a blasted speaker, I've never had it on the highest volume to begin with so why the heck would it make those sounds.

About the strings, they're supposed to be perfect for the strat according to the dude at the store. Fender Nickelplated steel SUPER 250s or superbullets.

I'm not too sure what that could be, but if you say it goes away with the headphones then it probably is with the amp. The only reason I can think of since you don't turn it all the way up is you might have just gotten a defective amp.

I really don't feel like spending more money. The guitar was perfect before I changed the Pguard , and the strings. I will buy some new string tomorrow to see if that's my problem. I will also speak to them regarding the amp. Thnx everybody for your help :)

Does it stop buzzing if you touch and hold the strings? If so, it's just feedback. Sit further away from the amp and also try turning around so you aren't facing the amp.

My Cyber Twin does that with a cheap strat that I have, but when I use a better quality strat, it doesn't do it nearly as bad. I think it's probably either bad connections in the guitar hardware or you might need to get better shielded audio cable.

Nope it does not stop the moment I stop the strings from ringing out, it drags on for a couple of seconds if i have it on drive or hgain. The sound is more like a dark buzz or a growl.

it might be the amp or most likely a cord problem
