Was bored, did a 5 min test. Apparently I do 64 WPM with a 87% Accuracy. I only use my index finger on my right hand, and two on my left. So I'm wondering what the normal speed is for people who actually type properly. Also, any hints to help me actually learn to type.
I am not really sure what I can do anymore. In highschool I had around 76 words per minutes with around a 98% accuracy which I am pretty happy about. I remember when we first got a home computer in our house, I was still doing the "bird peck" typing style. Then around 6 or 8 months into it, without properly learning the whole homerow stuff, I kinda slowly slid into a home row formation, but a loose interpritation of it. Like I can do homerow, but my hands more or less float above home row instead of having your fingers always on homerow and then going back to home row before moving to the next letter. My fingers just ever so slightly float above homerow and just kinda start typing...its weird though...since my hands float, I don;t feel those little dots on the "F" and "J" key, so sometimes if my hands are one key to the left or right side my entire paragraph will turn into jibberish if I am not really paying attention to the screen. For example, I have just read an entire section on Rate Laws in Chemistry while typing up this post...lol. :P
