Hey people. I seemed to have taken an interest into North Korea recently. (Probably due to them being in the world cup)

As they are a dictatorship, ruled by one leader, i'm sure they will be some ridiulous laws there yes?

I mean they have concentration camps over there and stuff, so I was wondering how similar to Nazi Germany it would be? :|

If you go on google maps, and search 'North Korea' there are no cities listed, it just says North Korea... I mean I'm suprised they were even allowed out of there country for the world cup :? (The players that is)

So basically, I'm asking if anyone can enlighten me on North Korea... As crazy as that sounds...

They have invisible headsets to communicate with their great leader, Kim Jong-il. Also, that great leader can get 10 hole in ones on his first round of golf, but he retired and left golf to mortals, so he doesn't ruin to sport. True story.

Should check out the Vice Guide to North Korea, they basically fly in from China and go on a government approved North Korea vacation. Should be 3 parts to the episode but it is pretty interesting on how they do things there for foreigners and "tourists"

I heard that too... In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if the North Korean public were told they won against Brazil considering the fact they did actually score :|

Of course they were allowed out. They will "dissapear" if they don't win. I'm surprised they are even allowed to particpate, given the sanctions.

There is a REALLY REALLY REALLY interesting video on North Korea from when Diane Sawyer was allowed to go into the country for a special. Its a few years old but it was really insightful. It completely changed my view of how North Koreans view their country. I used to think they were miserable, hated NK, and wanted to leave with any chance they got. Turns out they LOVE it there. And they literally LOVE their leader. Of course they have been brainwashed since childhood so its easy to understand why they think that way, but its still very interesting. They showed one guy who had a chance to live in South Korea (you know, freedom and all) and yet chose to return to live in North Korea! Unfortunately I have not been able to find the video online, but I did find this article: http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=2585361&page=1

How? That picture is scary. The majority of North Koreans are poor, starving people that need help.

I also highly recommend watching the BBC Newsnight when they went into North Korea to celebrate Kim Il Sung's birthday. Absolutely amazing video.

Link.

This was very recent by the way. Just after that South Korean warship sank. Also watch on the North Korean defectors.
