N Korea lauched four missles off east coast in message of defiance against the U.S. during the July 4 holiday.

NK is just silly to think they pose any threat to the west. Japan is going to be infuriated again over this, just wait for Tokyo to issue a statement. Thanks to Russia and China being on the Security Council, the UN has essentially become a paper tiger.

If you look back into NK's history u will see that Kim Jong Ill isn't exactly a rational person. The problem isn't winning a war with NK, it's that they are trying to obtain Nuclear weapons, and if they do they could kill thousands of people, even if they lose the war. Kim Jong Ill has been compared to comic book villains and I agree with them to an extent. This is a man who kidnapped a filmaker (from South Korea I think) so he could make movies for him. It's only a war when there is an ongoing threat, NK is no Iraq, I think NK can be nuked with little fanfare especially if China backs the measure. Of course military is a last resort, and China will probably veto any UN Security Council resolutions authorizing force. And the EU is not likely to break with the UN, so here we go again; the US on their own with maybe the UK.
