Not if you're already infected. A virus is a piece of software, and like any piece of software, it will execute what it was designed to do. If you're seeing the pop-ups, it's likely too late as your machine is being locked down. The point of an AV program is to recognize malicious code and prevent it from executing in the first place.

I'm not certain if it will remove viruses. But I'm confident it will protect your chicken from Doken.

Why aren't you contacting Norton for help...it's their product, they know more about it.:?

I had a virus in one of my computers not too long ago. It came in anE-mail and basically hijacked the node. It was some anti-virus free scan **** It hijacked thesystem and told me the system was corrupted and needed to bescanned for viruses. The damn security suite software was the virus.

It would run in the back round with the rest of the services. Didn't take long for me to isolate it and remove it. But isn't that something? "If you don't buy our anti-virus software we will hijack your system and shut everything down until you buy our anti-virus software." That's like some mafia **** Instead of busting you up for protection fees they try forcepeople into buying anti-virus protection with a demo that IS a malicious virus.

In the last AV-comparatives test, McAfee did shockingly well finishing fourth out of 15 I believe in detection. Now if only the program wasn't an obnoxious resource hog with a penchant for corrupting itself, then it would be a good product.
