We've seen the ads about how nuclear power is clean and efficient. Well, it's not. The amount of nuclear waste produced is immense. Check out these statistics:

  • 80% of nuclear waste will still exist on this planet 1000 years from now
  • It has been linked to cancer, heart disease, and mental illness
  • Millions of liters of water are polluted to keep nuclear reactors cool
  • Nuclear waste has to be stored underground, which can eventually leak out
  • Jeff Gertsman was fired today, so none of the above things matter anymore. Perhaps we should bury the nuclear waste under Cnet?

nuclear waste isnt produced at the rate you believe. Nuclear powerplants have a far lower degree of damaging pollutants than any other power plants... the millions of litres of water you speak about, besides being a tiny fraction of the water on earth, are not even polluted in a manner that lasts more than a few hours at worst.

If Jeff is really gone forever we definitely need to store it all under CNET.

Your facts are incorrect. Those tanks that contain the waste from them were tested through INCREDIBLY dangerous situations, (set on fire, hit by trains, etc.)and still were impeccably intact. All of these tanks are also buried many miles underground, so it's highly unlikley that some one would get sick from them.

Better yet, we should build a giant statue of Jeff using the waste and plant it in front of CNET.

I like how so many people are taking my first few points seriously. They aren't facts, just a way to hide the thread's actual topic.
