We all know Obama's primary platform is that McCain voted %90 of the time with Bush on economic issues. Obama and the democrats also blame Bush for the economic troubles we're currently experiencing.

Many also know that the economic crisis was caused by the implosion of the housing industry and that the implosion was caused by people defaulting on their mortgages.

It is also known that democrats forced banks to give loans to people who couldn't afford them through equal opportunity housing. Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae donated to democratic politicians in very large amounts. Matter of fact, Obama was the second largest recipient. Franklin Raines ran one of these groups and was chased out for fraud. During his campaign, Obama sought advice from Raines even though Raines was not a formal advisor, but that's not very relevant to the point.

In the 2005/ 2006 time area, somefore saw the collapse of the housing markets, including Bush's secretary treasurer. Republicans fought to try and regulate the housing market, but their efforts failed because of democrats who fought off their attempts at regulation.

Obama and democrats pin this on Bush and this enables them to use it as a campaign weapon by constantly saying that McCain has the same policies. They even have the nerve to say republicans fought regulations when it was actually republicans who were trying to regulate and dems who fought them off.

I have to believe that if it were McCain who had been the 2nd largest recipient of contributions from Mae and Mac, and if it had been him who asked advice from Raines, and if it had actually been him fighting the regulation attempt that he would be the target of a major scandal.

To those who buy that the economic crisis is Bush's fault, and therefore McCain will be more of the same, you need to realize that you're being lied to for the sole purpose of votes. The fact that they even attempt to disregard the truth and mislead all of their party followers should really insult the intelligence of every single citizen, but sadly, some just don't care.

Here is the address of McCain warning against the crisis in 2006 and below it is a link to the actual senate record.

I would be personally more worried about Obama's Global Poverty Act which if it pass we will be sending Africa 0.7% of our GDP or $870+ billions of dollars.

If Obama plans on "spreading the wealth", it's sure he will tax the hell out of middle class to give money for people who can't get a job for good reasons.

Why is being rich and successful such a crime? They should be punished for this?

I got a major tax break under G.W. due to the child tax credit increase and his tax plan, and I only make around $33, 000 a year.

One day, If I make my fortune, I do NOT want Obama and his grimy hands trying to give my money to the poor. The poor do not have to stay poor. But they must not excel on someone else's dollar. To me this is outright theft.

Actually McCain gives tax cuts to all people on top of the bush cuts, Obama will raise taxes across the board. Of course if mccain give teh taxy cutz to richy peoples is the best that can be said about his tax plan, I feel pretty good about it.

It'd be nice if you actually knew what you were talking about.

"What Obama proposes is to allow President Bush's income tax cuts of 2003 to expire for married couples with adjusted gross incomes (AGI) above $250,000 and single people with AGI of $200,000.

That change would hit only the most affluent 2.3 percent of American taxpayers, figures Bob McIntyre, director of Citizens for Tax Justice, a liberal think tank in Washington. Obama would extend the Bush income tax cuts and enact several new tax cuts for the remaining 97.7 percent of taxpayers."

Do you not understand that republicans fought to regulate the housing market, but the dems fought them off? THEY TRIED and your precious democrats stopped the regulation, then had the nerve to claim it was them who wanted to regulate. They think the citizens are mindless enough to believe it and sadly, many do.

You fail to realize something, I'm not affiliated with any party. I vote based on who I think will do a better job. All you're doing is what the candidates have been doing. Talking points.

In a capitalist society not everyone can be rich... there is always going to be a lower class, and a lower standard of living. So its not always about motivation. Not everyone can make it out of the gutter. Thats simply a fact.

You're kidding right? Get a job in the factory with the constant layoffs, outsourcings, and closings? I don't know what fantasyland you live in, but it's not so simple for people to get jobs that don't involve being a door greeter or flipping burgers.

Oh, and by the way..

Under Obama, the poor might get some less taxation, but when the wealthy who own businesses get taxed more, and start laying people off to make up the difference, then what good is that spreading the wealth when they don't have a job anymore? Not only that, but those companies will just raise their prices to make up the difference, also.

Under McCain, when he gives tax breaks to the business owners (and more), they are able to expand their businesses and hire more people. More jobs. When you help out the chunk of the economy with the most control of the money, then it helps out the entire economy.

If the people are working 70 hour weeks to barely make ends meet, then yes, they do deserve a boost compared to some Company president that sits around for 40 hours a week with his thumb up his arse in some boardroom, all while making $750,000 a year.

One day, If I make my fortune, I do NOT want Obama and his grimy hands trying to give my money to the poor. The poor do not have to stay poor. But they must not excel on someone else's dollar. To me this is outright theft.

Okay, so let's just tax everyone equally. The rich can get that 4 bedroom house they've been looking at, and the poor can lose their house.

You understand that people don't have the right to free homes, right? If they need money, let them get a ged, a grant and get a degree or let them work in a factory and rent. The problem is their motivation.

It's called not being able to afford college.

Once again, I got a grant. Opportunity is there for all.

I didn't realize it was Trashface's day/turn for spewing propaganda from the crazy conservative mafia of Gamespot. Lobster must have been on a day off.sSubZerOo

Crazy? Ive backed up my points. All youve done is throw empty insults such as this one. You don't present yourself as very credible.

I've done some research and it seems Obama plans to make the Bush cuts permanent for those making roughly under $200,000. That being said, his tax plans are very unhealthy to the economy. Reasd this Washington Post article.

Trashface every one here knows you arn't crediable, your a extreme republican who will try to bash the other party at every turn no matter what, as seen numerous times with heavily slanted posts and topics you create on a daily basis. People shouldn't waste their time, even if they provide crediable evidence you will either denie it, ignore it, or misinterpret it.

Trashface every one here knows you arn't crediable, your a extreme republican who will try to bash the other party at every turn no matter what, nor will you ever be critical of your own party.. You know a nut job, what argument should there be made when you have lost it the dozens of heavily times with slanted posts and topics you create on a daily basis? People shouldn't waste their time, even if they provide crediable evidence you will either denie it, ignore it, or misinterpret it.

You only speak for yourself. Apparently, everyone isn't fitting since many have agreed. To every argument you've made, I've made a counterpoint.

Adding more words doesn't make your empty insults any more credible. Once again, why not try to argue the point instead of trying to insult like a child? You're calling the Washington post a bunch of nut jobs? I simply gave an article address. So what about this article do you think is "nutty"?

In a capitalist society not everyone can be rich... there is always going to be a lower class, and a lower standard of living. So its not always about motivation. Not everyone can make it out of the gutter. Thats simply a fact.

The problem is that as workers become more productive, the only benefits of that extra production are in the pockets of executives. Workers should share in their own success. It should be like the 50's: if you do honest work, even labor, you should be able to support yourself. There's no reason someone should have to work 3 jobs to make BASIC ends meet. If executive pay has gone up %300 in the past 20 years, why has worker salaries remained stagnant? It's simple: the workers can't make decisions about compensation but the executives can, so they (executives) simply pat themselves on the back with bigger paychecks and expect the workers to continue increasing productivity with no real worker incentive. Workers should share in their increased productivity, and not just those in charge. In the 50's, you could support yourself and own a house with a job at the grocery store. Doesn't mean you'd be rich, but you could make ends meet. This %20 of Americans owning %80 of all wealth is only going to lead to a class war, as well it should.

Many people agree? If you look at the people who actually agree with you, its people like Mac Daddy who every one who posts in any kind of social or political debate knows is a extreme conservative..

The democrats and others wanted "affordable" housing. That is what caused the mortgage problem. When my parents got their house in the early eighties they put 20% of the value of the house down. Which, is an incentive to stay even through tough economic times. With the call for "affordable" housing no down payment was acceptable in cases. So, when times got hard why stay? You have no substantial investment in the house if you moved in recently. And now Obama is going to "redistribute" the wealth of the responsible people who actual made their mortgage payments to the same people who failed to pay theirs. Hopefully, they do not default on their payments again if they decide to out and get another mortgage with their government checks.

So you blame trying to help those that can't pay their houses off and you don't think as an American wealthier folks shouldn't help their fellow man?

Just who's side are you on?

I think we should help our fellow man. However, I don't feel we should award(help out) irresponsible people for poor decision making, as in the mortgage crisis. Charity is a great thing. But, federally mandating it and just throwing wealthy peoples money at problems is not.

Alot of people are losing their homes not due to irresponability but due to interest rates.. Many responsible people have lost their homes due to this accident.. EVEN McCain agrees that the bail out should have been for THESE people and not the BANKS.. Which would mean you would still be paying taxes for them..

The accident of interest rates changing?

That is simply not understanding what an adjustable rate mortgage is......

People want politician that do something, not politicians that whine that after controlling the government for ages they're somehow the victims of their opposition.
