On MSNBC during Hardball with Chris Matthews, Evan Thomas, assistant managing editor at Newsweek, likened Obama to God.

LINK

Good Grief!!! :? And I find it ironic that this is the same guy who said, "Well, our job is to bash the President, that's what we do." when responding to a question on unfair media scrutiny of Bush.

And yes, I know Fox News is equally bias, so you don't have to remind me.

these days most politicians are just out for themselves...

I don't see him as being god-like at all... even though his inaguration reminded me of an alter call.

He may not be as bad as Bush... but he aint no god.

And what I find even more disturbing is that Matthews never stopped him after the statement. I guess Matthews is still getting that thrill up his leg when Obama speaks!?!?

Every person in a position of authority and power like a father ora mother or a State president might be fooled to think he's God and has a right to control others. For centuries those in government have fooled us into thinking that they are God and that their rule in natural or whatever. But that of course is a myth.

Yes, some people think they are God and have a right to control others but that has in my opinion no basis in reality.

It's a dangerous situation. People my age, who are young and idealistic and genuinely want to make the world a better place have been put through "the system", and have put their hearts and souls behind the worst possible kind of person; a politician. People should be more cynical towards politicians than anyone, especially when they talk about how they're going to change the world.

I really can't stand MSNBC sometimes, especially when it comes to covering Obama. Too much praising going on. I find Fox News' coverage of Obama so much more entertaining, especially their coverage during the campaign.

Well, no, of course not. What kinda ignoramus would expect reporting from a cable news network?!? The praising, however, got old very quickly, but I still can't get enough of the demonizing of Obama. It's kind of gotten stale of late, but still, it's good enough to provide me with the occasional giggle.

Well he probably is the son of God but I think that dude is thinking (and over thinking) the position a president places himself in when it comes to addressing the rest of the world.

Every side of Obama is getting annoying. Between the demonizing like you mentioned and the glorifying is getting annoying.

I think we need a national holiday. I call it "Media-free day". For an entire day, the media shuts up. People start to form their own opinions. O'Reilly, Hardwick, and Blitzer could go out for a round of golf. All would be right in the world.
