Doesn't he have to wait until he is inaugurated? I'm not sure how it works.KG86
Yes he has to wait until then, which isn't until January.
what are you talking about? He won't become president until January. If anything he needs to be in his seat as Senator in Washington. Of course deciding on your cabinet and preparing for the White House is probably more of a time sink than I'll ever know.johnnyv2003Yeah, I have a feeling that if I just got elected and was about to be president... I would go to Disney World. He's got enough time for headaches later.
he's still celebrating?
you make it sound like he's cheering and popping champaign. I haven't seen the guy speak at all since his acceptance speech. If you knew what you were talking about AT ALL you would know they are hard at work on transitioning already, and President Bush has already begun briefing him on certain matters. He's been vetting potential cabinet members as well.
[QUOTE="blasto65_basic"]WOW you do know he has no official power yet right.JoeRatz16yes he does, he's a senator. He should get to work in the senate and start fixin' stuff.
Yes but he also now has to chose his cabinet and the surrounding people
Lol, wow , way to come in without know anything about the political process, he is the President Elect, he doesn't have power yet, not till he actually takes off. Not to mention he is getting to work, assembling his staff, and they are already talking about what needs to be done so that they can do it quickly when he becomes the President. Plus what celebrating? The most celebration Ive seen since he was elected was his speech, since then we haven't heard anything from him, he is taken all his time now preparing...this thread is fail.

wouldn't it be easier if he just kept the Bush cabinet? sure they're Republicans, but isn't Obama supposed to about reaching across party lines and uniting the country. What better way to show bipartisanship than by keeping the Republican Cabinet, unless he appoints McCain as Secretary of State or Palin as Secretary of Defense, or maybe he could appoint Bush as chief of staff.[QUOTE="blasto65_basic"]yes he does, he's a senator.
