Is this the sign of the coming Democratic transition to the left?
95% (88%) of Republicans (Democrats) say they have a positive image of free enterprise, while 23% (53%) of Republicans (Democrats) say they have a positive image of socialism.
This suggests to me that people simply do not know what socialism actually is.
Also, it's weird that the support for free enterprise is much higher than the support for capitalism.
Most conservatives don't know what Socialism even means. Franklinstein
I think some liberals need to stop generalizing all conservatives....

Most conservatives are easily generalized. Most liberals are easily generalized as well. Also, don't get your panties in a wad, I was somewhat joking.[QUOTE="kingkong0124"][QUOTE="toast_burner"]He clearly said most not all

Also this is funny given your topic title. That's the article's title.
Obama voters love socialism because a slight majority likes socialism. Using this same logic, voters love obama, because a slight marjority of voters voted for obama. Therefore, I think we can reasonably say that voters love socialism (using the logic used in the article title)
I guess that also means that we should have socialism in place by the end of Obama's second term since a slight majority of the slight majority wants it.:roll:Obama voters love socialism because a slight majority likes socialism. Most moderates do not have a favorable opinion of socialism.
That's interesting because most moderates voted for obama *looks at the topic title* Is the title wrong?

If that's what you really want, it would be really helpful if you stopped acting like a stereotype.

By posting it on Gamespot you are perpetuating this article. And by citing it as the basis for your question, you are encouraging it by assuming it has validity.Franklinstein
when liberals begin to support leftist idelogies more than their center-right party, that's a transition, no doubt.

You aren't a real republican then:P but thanks
That's not conservative. "Conservative" (and liberal) are not political parties. Republicans (and democrats) don't have political beliefs. One side gets elected by rich people, the other by poor. They're amoral. They don't have any ideas or beliefs or standards... or rather, they'll do and say anything to get themselves more power and money.[QUOTE="Bane_09"][QUOTE="kingkong0124"]

I like to think otherwise. That liberals believe the government should not be involved in social issues, but should offer support with economic ones. And that Conservatives believe government should protect the sanctity of certain things by imposing certain government restrictions on certain social issues, but that the government is incompetent to handle money and should have as little economic control/power as possible.[QUOTE="Bane_09"][QUOTE="kingkong0124"]

I was generalizing, of course. There are no absolutes, and that is absolute. Democrats pander to social workers (and their clients) and Republicans pander to CEO's. They don't have an actual agenda or belief or platform. They do and say whatever they can to get more for themselves and less for everyone else. To Franklin - Economic issues are social issues. They pander to whomever they think can get them elected. They lie to get more power and money. This is an absolute. That's not conservative. "Conservative" (and liberal) are not political parties. Not gonna lie, that's pretty sad.The party of people who are bad at math. Maybe more math classes in High school would ruin the party.
