So apparently there is this thing on twitter where people are being asked to describe Obamacare in three words. The White House responded by tweeting "It's. The. Law." - some people responded by arguing that it's is a contraction of two words (it is). My reply to the White House tweet was "For. Now. Suckas".

So how would you describe Obamacare in three words?

This is more than three words. But the law states you don't have to participate in the program, you get to keep your insurance if you want to. Wow compromise has gone out the window in this country hasn't it now...

Subsidizing an industry is socializing it. Obamacare is socialism and people who say otherwise are just trying to repackage it so it appeals to moderates.A "private" organization that is funded by the government and subject to government regulations is not actually private.

If that's true then all businesses in america are socialized because all of them are subject to some form of government regulation. You definition is way too broad.

Then we can agree that republicans are socialists as well considering the individual mandate was thought up by them decades ago.  Good to know.

America is transitioning into a socialist state. There can be no compromise between capitalism and socialism. There can be no compromise between freedom and slavery. There can be no compromise between good and evil; these are irreconcilable concepts. A market is either regulated, or it is not. There is no middle ground.

Mitt Romney is a socialist so I do not see what your point is.

Socialism is the political manifestation of the idea that man has no inherent (self sufficient) right to exist, and that his life and work therefore belong to "society" rather than to himself. It is the doctine that the only justification for man's existence is his service to society, and that man's life is therefore the property of "society" and is to be disposed of at its discretion (which inevitable means at the discretion of a government authority or a democratic vote).

Not only do you have a problem with government, but also the very tenant that make up society as a whole. The hits just keep coming from lai. Why do you want a every man and woman for himself free for all, when we can have at least some level of control of things?

Well, it looks like anything right of Romney is bordering on the extreme right in the spectrum. Then again, I suppose your views are seen as extreme by most people here.

The world doesn't exist in either black or white, shades of gray exist.  Certain industries are regulated more so than others and for good reason.  Unless you think the guilded age was the pinnacle of mankind I assume.

Economics are just a practical manifestation of philosophy. Ayn Rand and Ron Paul have both written extensively about the philosophy of capitalism, and that is what is important.
