Obama's campaign bans tough questions.

Barack Obama's campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported .

During a satellite video Thursday, WFTV's Barbara West quoted Karl Marx and asked Biden how Obama's comment to "Joe the Plumber," about spreading the wealth wasn't being Marxist.

"Are you joking?," Biden asked.

West replied, "No."

Later in the interview West questioned Biden about his comments that if Obama wins the election next month, he would be tested early on as president and wanted to know if Biden was implying America was no longer the world's leading power.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden asked her.

The Obama camp then killed a WFTV interview with Biden's wife Jill, according to an Orlando Sentinel blog.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign, according to the Sentinel. This is like Hugo Chavez taking over the media to silence critisism.

If this were Palin, she would be crucified. This along side Obama's campaign digging up dirt on Joe the plumber for tough questions and the faitrness doctrine is scary. It seems borderline communist trying to silence any critisism. It's sad that people know more about aplumber than their actual candidate. I don't understand how people can vote for these ideologies with a good conscience. Basically the Obama campaign is saying "if you ask tough questions, we won't talk to you".

I saw that interview those weren't questions, they sounded like talking points / rhetoric provided by some Republican. Tough interviews are asking for plan details and such, not as a reporter repeating someone else's rhetoric.duxup

At least Biden knows what the VP does. Palin thinks that a vp is in charge of the senate and that the vp helps the senators make policies. At least Biden's foreign policy does not reside in staring at russia. At least Biden can name a us supreme court case he disagrees in. At least Biden can name a newspaper that he reads (palin says she reads ALL of them, yet can't name one). Atleast Biden knows what the Bush doctrine is. One can say that McCain was childish in the last debate, with his facial expressions, physical reactions and such. To the point it looked like he was going to break into a rage filled tantrum. The point being both canidates have their vices specially when they have the entire country looking at them under a metaphorical microscope of every flaw they have. In my opinion from what I have seen McCain when it comes to big questions seems even worse.. In CNN for instance on the interview, McCain tried to sight taxation as the main reason for the cause of the Great Depression.. Then on top of that he constantly is calling/insinutating Obama is a socialist or Communist, when he him self voted for one of the largest socialist plans in history, the $700 billion dollar bail out and nationalization of banks.. Seems quite hypocritical, now this isn't to suggest Obama isn't all have their contridictions, they are after all human.. But calling Obama a socialist is one of his main points and stratagies.. Furthermore McCain actually supported a similar tax plan to Obama's only a few years back..

Then how come when Biden AND Palin were both asked the same question (which supreme court case do you disagree with), Palin couldn't come up with an answer while Biden could. So you're comparing facial expressions with Biden balatantly SAYING these things and their campaign blatantly running from questions? Oh my goodness, thank you! That was one of the best interviews I've seen this election. If McCain's people were smart, they could make at least three campaign ads out of Biden's unfortunate responses to these hard-hitting questions. No wonder they're cancelling interviews.

One can say that McCain was childish in the last debate, with his facial expressions, physical reactions and such. To the point it looked like he was going to break into a rage filled tantrum. The point being both canidates have their vices specially when they have the entire country looking at them under a metaphorical microscope of every flaw they have. In my opinion from what I have seen McCain when it comes to big questions seems even worse.. In CNN for instance on the interview, McCain tried to sight taxation as the main reason for the cause of the Great Depression.. Then on top of that he constantly is calling/insinutating Obama is a socialist or Communist, when he him self voted for one of the largest socialist plans in history, the $700 billion dollar bail out and nationalization of banks.. Seems quite hypocritical, now this isn't to suggest Obama isn't all have their contridictions, they are after all human.. But calling Obama a socialist is one of his main points and stratagies.. Furthermore McCain actually supported a similar tax plan to Obama's only a few years back..

So you're comparing facial expressions with Biden balatantly SAYING these things and their campaign blatantly running from questions? That's just my point, journalists have responsibility to ask questions that provide people with information. Not just repeat rhetoric from one side to the next. That is in fact what is wrong with journalism today.

If they're going to hit people hard they should ask their own questions about specific policies, demand details, ect. Not just grab some other politician's talking points and repeat them.

That's pretty much what is wrong with the Republican party right now. They've gotten in such a habit of desperately trying to spin anything regardless how absurd they're to the point that they can't possibly recognize a mistake because they make none, it's all good, it's all someone else's fault. Declare victory in the fact of defeat. Heck if McCain was allowed to run as he wished, pick the VP he wanted, actually change the party platform (a joke), and admit Iraq was a mistake but that we can't just leave... I think they'd win the presidency handily. Yet no, many of them are not capable of growth as a party and I fear that stuff creeps into their own lives.

its a local news station with 9 days left until the election. im pretty sure they have more important things to do. the only interview scheduled was jil biden. big deal? i dont think so.

She never asked "wasnt it stupid" and things such as that. She asked very valid questions and Biden was doing alright at answering until the pressure caused him to throw his Biden tantrum. Then afterwards, the campaign played the role of the coward by avoiding anymore tough interviews. She asked him about spreading the wealth in regards to Marxism which is VERY valid. One of my biggest issues with Obama are his socialist idealogies.

I have to say that people who have just dismissed these warning signs one after the other for months are so biased that there would be abosultely nothing that would change their minds. They have to close their eyes to anything questionable and find anyway they can to justify voting for Obama. A plumber dared question him and now the nation knows more about him than they do Obama.

Obama has a total of 3 months experience in the senate, yet people think he is ready for this. It'slike McDonalds making a cashier CEO. That would never happen, yet people want to give this person the most important office in the world.

Biden has made gaff after gaff, yet he's basically been safe from critism while Palin has been crucified. Obama has very questionable allies and his MENTOR is an angry, racist, radical.

Obama has many past ties with a corrupt voting agency.

Obama refuses to let many details of his past be known.

All of these mixed with the fact that he would have a dem senate and congress controlled by reid and Pelosi meaning that Obama will have NO filter for his policies mean that he is very, very dangerious for the country. People know nothing about this person and he has no experience, but people want to give him all this power over their lives. People don't seem to see the danger in this.
