Yeah the mgs stuff specialy from the first one(on ps) is great. I know its a tad misleading but it does have relevance! lol and its more creative than "video game music" or something.

A lot of SquareRPGs have some lovely music, like Final Fantasy 8 and Chrono Cross. I've always been fond of the music in Silent Hill, very dramatic and atmospheric. Also, Shadow of The Colossus, Oblivion, God of War and Beyond Good and Evil had lovely scores.
Hitman blood money has a great soundtrack, GOW I , II , those two are the ones that come to mind at the moment, as far as older games megaman 2 (iceman world) was awesome.....
