Oh Hai OT, Are You Well Connected?

I've been recently helping one of my college friends get a job in the industry. Apart from the fact that I am helping her - I feel that it benefits me since more friends in my line of work means more connections / networking.

Which also got me thinking, and realizing this in past threads as well - that I have pretty good connections to certain things that I enjoy in life. I have family and friends in the gaming industry, myself and friends in the entertainment (TV/Movie industry), PR, tech stuff (MAC discounts - which is honestly useless to me and software stuff), and family in politics. I also have some connection to getting tickets to sporting events and concerts.

Now I wish I had more connections or I need to find connections to more hardware stuff when it comes to technology. Also wish I had connections to cars/dealerships like my boss - it seems pretty sweet. Oh and it would be cool to have more people who have vacation houses I can use.

What about you, OT? Connected?

ETA: I need to clarify. This is NOT ass kissing. No one gets far with that. We are talking about networking and having good personal and business contacts and relationships with people.

Well the really rich kids at my school are all the sons and daughters of heads, CEOs, famous (to an extent) people but I would really say I'm well connected because I can't really go to these people for anything. :PxTheExploited

I don't think you understand the concept of having a professional network.

It is about having professional relationships which can be beneficial to both parties. If your network is based of ass kissing then you may wish to change your style.
