Get drunk as you can and sleep with many chicks as you can.ArchPlague22
Was your blood alcohol level as high as your GPA?
I start my freshman year of college early September, so I still have a month.
I'm half nervous and half excited...

In my experience, people at college are generally more mature.[QUOTE="clayron"]College is a glorified high school. Not much changes.Link256
Hmmm, they are and they aren't.
[QUOTE="seabiscuit8686"][QUOTE="clayron"]College is a glorified high school. Not much changes. More douches. More women. More classes. Same game, new field.clayronSomeone went to community college :) I go to USC.
I have some friends in USC majoring in Fine Art. :)
I'm sure you're going to have a great time. It seems like its pretty hard not to. Unless you go to community college :( Then you might hate your life for a while. I think the first few months of college were the most depressing moments of my life. You're stuck at home, almost all of your friends are gone, you feel like you're still going to high school except its a high school where nobody wants to talk to anybody else. The only thing that kept me sane was visiting my friends every couple months. Oh well. One more year and its off to UCLA...hopefully. Bruin4ev3r1520
I guess it's a good thing most my friends are HS dropouts, burnouts, or about 10 years older than me. So I guess I'm going to love community college lol
yeah, i think its gonna be quite a radical change for me.
For example:
in highschool, i HATED every waking second. The superficial nature of teens is astounding. They behave like "teenagers" for the sake of "acting like a teenager." I wanted to punch a majority of them in the face. this doesnt help knowing the fact that my school has 4000+ kids.
Also, although i had many groups of friends, i am not one to "hang out." Im pretty private, but not antisocial. My friends ussually had to pry me from my house. Well, in college, my privacy is pretty stripped.
Academically, im pretty safe... i hope. I have a vigerous and steadfast approach towards schoolwork...hopefully it pays off ;)
Thirdly, the most scary thing is that im moving 2000 miles away from my family and friends. it like a new life is ahead.
In conclusion, let the partying begin....im just kidding....or am i?...no.. im not kidding lol
Just don't be one of those MTV fools, study your work, manage your partying, don't get wasted.. that's pretty stupid thing to do and stay clear of the drugs, there's gonna be tons at parties.. stay far far away. The majority is just time management and substance control imo :P, try to get a 1st class degree, seriously the world is pretty competitive these days with everyone and their mother having a degree, I have one and I found it tough to land a good job so I'm doing a second one right now so I can further my career.
And I'll be starting seminary/grad school in less than 2 weeks as well. As far as college advice, you will only have time for two out of three things: sleep, study, and social life. One of them you will have to throw away. I decided to go with lack of sleep.
My own freshman year was great. Clas ses were not yet difficult so I had plenty of time to hang out with new friends. Fun times.
(meh, I dislike html errors...)
Freshmen year will take a little time to get your bearings straight after you get a semi-decent routine setup you can pretty much start doing the things you love. I went to Indiana Univeristy my first 2 years before transfering to University of Michigan to finsh out, and lets just say at IU the weekend starts on a Thursday and tons and tons of activities to do. You will need to tell yourself there is a time and place to party and get wild and out.
The only thing I want to tell you (other than college is the best thing to ever happen to me) is to shut the **** up in class. You will be amazed at some students and the way they yak on and on about trivial bullcrap while the teacher is talking, and they will do it LOUDLY. So please, for the sake of the college you're going to, don't be one of those students.:D
