Right. Its finally official. A friend of mine has confessed that another friend has a crush on me. Major one. Question is, how the heck do I say 'sorry, I'm not interested' without ruining the position we have as 'just friends'? On a side note, she's nice and all, but seriously NOT my type.

I kinda doubt she thinks I'm not interested. Her friend just spilled it out all over me - she's still on me. It has been almost a year, from what I've been told.

Be honest with her. It might hurt her now but in the long run she will be better off. And while you may want to keep your friendship,if you are not clear she will always be plotting on how to make it more than friends. just look how you would feel if the roles were reversed and you had no chance with the person you crushed on but they would not honestly tell you. So yeah,tell her.

Still, don't come right out and say something before she does. She'd get the impression that you're desperate to avoid a relationship. By the way, are you seeing someone else at the moment?

If it's been over a year, it's honestly probably not a crush anymore. I promise you she has had several other crushes over the time of this year, too. Some girls like to always have someone they "have a crush" on, it's something to talk to her friends about. I don't think you need to say anything and I seriously doubt she would want an actual relationship with you. That would ruin the "crush."

Continue being her friend. Don't throw out any signals that may lead her to believe that you are interested in her. If she makes a move on you tell her straight out that you are not interested in a relationship and just want to continue being friends.

If you are above the consenting age, sleep with her and do a really bad job of it. She won't wanna date you any more after that. Alternatively, just hope the subject never comes up. I hated telling girls "thanks, but no thanks" in a nice way cos I feel like a git afterwards. Girls are much better at crushing your hopes and dreams :P
