Old(er) OTers - What did you want to be and what did you end up being?

I have been thinking about my future and career choices, everyone has a dream job and I know that everyone doesn't end up where they wanted to. I was wondering if you ended up doing what you wanted to do?

I was thinking of Real Estate or Graphic Design for myself. But I'm still 17...

Guess I match the description...

30yo, wanted to be either a doctor or a publicist, ended up being a doctor.

I wanted to be a programmer who worked on video games.

I'm a programmer, but not (yet, at least) one who works on video games.

I want to be a video game designer, still in the process.

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a vetrenarian. Now I'm going to college for it.

Growing up I wanted to be many myriad of things... from train conductor, to physicist, to astronaut, to paleontologist (thanks Jurassic Park)... but I'm going to be a professor of religious studies (after I get my Masters and Doctorate). Asked me even 3 or 4 years ago (while still in university) could I see myself in this position, I'd just laugh your face off.

I still haven't achieved this yet.

Nothing has changed.

I wanted to work with animals and i'm going to go for zoologly in college

I wanted to be alot of things. I still truly don't know what I want to be but I enjoy my work.

I wanted to be a Marine Biologist. I ended up being an Agronomist ( although i have yet to find a job in the field ).

I always wanted to never work.

I still haven't achieved this yet.

That would be the last thing id be.

Growing up, I wanted to be a doctor (a cardiothoracic surgeon specifically). After bombing test after test, realizing that I get anxious too easily, and having a very inconsistent and unbalanced work-ethic, I had to give it up. I went into science research instead.

As a kid I wanted to be an astronaut, a firefighter, an airline pilot, an air force pilot after realizing that guns and explosives could be put on aircraft, a pirate, a cowboy, a knight, a dinosaur, a demolition engineer, (forgot what I called it then...) a machine gunner, NFL player, MLB payer, and a bunch more that I can't recall. Career choices varied for different ages.

I've worked as a farm hand, a grocery clerk, and as a warehouse employee.

In all likelihood, I'll end up as an engineer or a lawyer, once finished with school. Life is boring.
