I swear it's awesome. It has a bunch of 9th graders on an island trying to kill eachother with Uzis, sickles, and pot lids.

 I have the Legal dvd disc of the movie. its cool.

 Its about a group of 9th graders comming back from a basketball game only to find out they been chosen on a Battle Royal to kill each other because of a Boycott that sended the ecnonomy and country down the drain. The killing happens because they wanted to show the other people that Boycotting and disproving the country is wrong. Everyone kills each other and its brutal. They each get one bag of a random weapon and food and much hunt each other on an island and they have explosion collars if they do not kill each other in 3 days or go to a marked out zone that will mark out each area every day.

BR was great. Anyone read the manga yet? I heard it was delicious.firedonut

I read the first volume and stopped there. It was wayyyy too graphic for me. Rape, sex, weird fetish sequences with Mitsuko. Pretty sick stuff. I prefer just the implications like what the novel did.

First it was the novel, then the movie, then the manga. The novel and movie are brilliant while the manga was just plain disgusting.

The movie isn't just violence. The three main protagonists are very sympathetic characters, and the two main antagonists are just bad-asses. It's just a great movie overall. 

i see the movie is banned in america? sheesh...ill get the movies in means of other ways >.>blazinpuertoroc

Where the Hell did you hear that? It is by no means banned in America. No publisher was willing to pick it up, but it wasn't banned. You can buy the movie off of Amazon for 20 bucks, or rent it off of Netflix. :|

Yeah that movie was pretty sweet, cool story, characters and violence...it used to be the craziest Japanese movie i had ever seen...but the i saw Ichi the Killer and i was like...and it made Quintin Tarantino look like Mr Rogers...so if you are like me and watched BR just for the gore then may i recomend
