Nano can now play videos, Shuffle and Classic (changed name for the video iPod) are slightly updated and Touch is a stripped down version of the iPhone, but with more memory. Check it out on www.apple.com

Eh. I still haven't used up my 4GB Nano. Although this is the current Nano, which doesn't support video, so actually 8GB sounds about right for me. :P

The nano is quite a fine player for a person with little music, and no interest in watching videos on their music players. Besides, 400 dollars for a pretty ipod is a little much....

Does this mean that the ipod nano(metal) will be discountinued, cause I have no use for 160 gb or vid(Movies aren't that good the 2nd time, espeacially on a 2 inch screen) or a phone or touchscreen(maybe if it had a styulus)

Thumbs up apple, give the features people want but spread it out over multiple devices. The touch doesn't have enough storage, it has a chrome back (does anyone like this? you look at it and it scratches, the cases for 2nd gen nanos, and the ipod classic is the way to go). On the plus it has wifi and touch controls ( i hate em' some people love em). The classic has good amount of storage, metal casing, but no wifi, and doesn't look as good as the touch (and admit it, a lot of the people who shop apple do it for the aesthetics, no the features). Make one unit, give it good amount of storage (16gigs, that won't hold all my music, forget a video collection), the eye candy of the touch, touch controls if people want ( like i said, i hate them), make it a metal, scratch resistant case, equip it with wifi and you're good to go. The new ipod lineup is disappointing (i won't judge till i hold one, but the form factor of the new nano looks horrible, and videos is pointless on such a tiny device).

Yeah, talk about a slap in the face. I never expected that big a price cut (i didnt expect a cut actually, just the elimination of the 4gig). But it is your friends fault, you never buy something when Apple has an event like this planned.
