Hasn't Obama taught you anything? Hope will change the huricane's path right to the Bush Ranch in TexasI think for the sake of all the people living in new orleans, they should all move somewhere else. And the government should help them. Instead of spending tons of money rescuing people and restoring the city. I think the best decision would be to simply abandon the city. munu9
i don't think that is an option. the city would become a hell-hole for crime to fester. The only option is hurricane proof the city as best as possible and for the people there to take their lumps for living in such a stupid place for a city.
BTW, the money to prepare the city should mostly come from local taxes, not from the federal government. i really hope that the people there elected better leaders to be more prepared for this kind of thing. The ones they had before were pathetic.

How? If the city were literally abandoned; no stores, no gas stations, nothing open. How could crime, or anyone for that matter fester there?

If the city was a complete ghost town, that would be such a waste. Do you suppose they blow the whole city up afterwards.

For the sake of the people, I think it would be fine. I mean what's the point of living there if you're going to have to evacute, risk lives, and damages millions of dollars of property on a bimonthly basis? (I'm kinda exaggerating but you get my point)

Yes, "Learn from the first time" :P
"Don't build cities below sea water in an area prone to hurricanes."
waste of what, a dump that is still recovering from katrena to my understanding :?If the city was a complete ghost town, that would be such a waste. Do you suppose they blow the whole city up afterwards.

I feel sorry for you. Don't listen to these guys without feelings  ~ de arimasucfamgcnhow is not wanting such a hellhole to exist not feeling. i woulden't hesitate to evacuate and bomb my hometown if it was in the same situation. its just not a place that wants to sustain human life.

MY favorite part, was when the car tipped UPSIDE DOWN and slid allllll the way down the dock. Weeeeee! *slowly spins around with arms in air*What he is trying to say is, go on with your life, and stop going back to New Orleans because its just going to happen like every damn year.
or... he wants you to make some dinner.
[QUOTE="amob"]the city would become a hell-hole for crime to fester. famicommanderAnd that is different from now...how?*depends on the part of New Orleans
