Ima start off by telling yall this

I like anime, Ive only seen DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Death Note, despite the abundance of programs there are in this genre of entertainment, you can clearly see, that I do not bother wasting my time with anything less than pristine.

I have tried other animes, and if they can't captivate my attention, or provoke my thoughts, feelings, or beliefs, than it ain't worth my time.

BLEACH, seems extremely promising, it has made me laugh out loud several times in the 2 episodes I watched, very interesting story and good action so far. what I like the most is that it's 300 freaking episodes and counting. I feel I will be well occupied with this series and I look forward to it.

If anyone can recommend something else that should meet my standards please tell me the name of the show and maybe a brief description of it or why its so good.

I will mention I have Escaflowne in my queue. The mecha warrior animes look great but I tried Gundam Wing and I found it a bit boring to be honest but I only watched the first 2 episodes.

Which episodes of Bleach have you seen exactly? Not to be cynical but the further you go into the series, the more you'll realise Tite Kubo isn't exactly a good story teller.

Bleach is alright for the first season. I stopped watching it as much because of so many fillers. Instead of Gundam Wing, G Gundam. It's my favorite Gundam show. Escaflowne is good, too. Outlaw Star.

Bleach gets old fast, alot of people complain about the fillers but IMO they're the best episodes and the 'real' episodes are same old same old. As for recomendations: Baccano!, Black Lagoon, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Code Geass

Try and watch the subbed version. The english dubs are rather bad. But its a great anime although there are some episodes that are odd.

I can't recommend other Anime's, but it goes down hill after 20 or so episodes. They're still entertaining, but eventually it just becomes DBZ with swords, with lots of fillers and annoying story arcs.

Pretty much this. I haven't seen the anime, but I've read all of the manga and I've gotta say, it goes downhill fast and doesn't recover for a very long time, if ever. I really liked the first... 7 or so volumes of the manga, but after that, it got kinda meh. Although I personally like the direction the manga is going in right now. At least, I like this direction better than the previous arc/saga. So yeah. Watch at your own risk. :P

I used to watch Bleach and it started out pretty good. It kind of goes off the rails further on though. The story gets progressively more ridiculous and the show suffers from the "Dragon Ball Z" effect, where the charaters start off weak then have to get stronger to beat an insanely strong enemy, then when they beat that enemy, they have to go through the same process to beat and even more insanely strong enemy (and so on and so on until eveyone is stupidly powerful).

Bleach only disappoints towards the end but even then there are awesome fights during the whole season.
Just wait for the main story/objective in Bleach comes up...you'll like it even more. Not gonna spoil anything but you'd better keep on watching, it only gets better. :P

Bleach starts well enough and the first major arc is pretty good, from there though it falls flat. DBZ syndrome, lack of character development (this one especially is a huge problem for me), overly long fights, ridiculous stories and it simply runs too long for its own good (and is still running).

I would quit out before you get too invested. It starts off promising but falls into a lot of the really bad DBZ trappings relatively quickly, and turns into a "I'll show you my secret power!" "I'll show you MY secret power" "Well I've been practicing this secret technique" "I've had time to train since you last saw me and I have this NEW technique that will destroy you" "I'll show you my true power" "Well I'll unleash MY true, ultimate power" And then the battle ends. And then the next time the winner gets in a battle, take that ultimate true power they had and consider that their regular power. Then start over again. It's absurd. I stopped reading the manga midway through the
Hollow fortress-y land arc
and I don't regret it at all. It's MUCH worse than Naruto, and Naruto has gotten sickeningly bad,

I gave up on bleach when I was informed of the stupid amount of filler and DBZ syndrome. And the thing is I like DBZ which is a testament to how off putting bleach was.

If you can get over all the damn fillers that interrupt the story so often, its definitely a good anime IMO. I'm still a fan of it regardless of the fillers. Hell, some of them I actually found entertaining like the Captain Amagai arc and the first half of the Zampaktou arc...

The second major arc is decent (the beginning is good the ending is horiible)

The third major arc which hasnt started in anime yet seems promising

DBZ and Samurai Champloo are hardly "pristine" shows. DBZ is widely considered to be something that's only good for nostalgia value (the repeated posts in this topic that derogatorily compare Bleach to DBZ should be evidence enough of that). If you want some really good anime I suggest you watch:

- Akira (quite possibly the most important anime of all time considering it was single handedly responsible for bringing anime out of Japan)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (widely agreed upon to be one of, if not the, best anime of all time)
- Puella Magi Madoka Magicka (just finished airing but already the second best selling anime of all time and one of the most discussed in recent memory)
- Grave of the Fireflies (one of the few anime that has managed to earn praise from mainstream critics)
- Clannad and it's second season, After Story (tear-jerking drama)
- Ghost in the Shell (archtypical cyberpunk anime, inspired The Matrix)

Some others that may be worth looking into are FLCL, GTO, The Girl Who Jumped Through Time, and Higurashi no naku koro ni. Also, while I and many others consider it to be a somewhat "meh" anime due to heavy fanservice and sometimes cringe worthy dialogue, Elfen Lied is pretty entertaining and you'd probably like it.

True enough. When it comes to simple anime based on fighting and action and all that jazz, I would prefer to watch Getbackers over Bleach or Naruto anyday. Doesn't take itself too seriously, and while it falls into some cliches, it avoids enough of them to not annoy me. There's only really one shift in power and it's fully explained and planned out, and that's that. But there's MUCH better anime out there than it. It's just a light, easy watch.

i like bleach a lot. im not much into the filler episodes. thankfully youre getting into it now when they just finished a MAJOR part of the main story. now, if im not mistaken theyre back into another filler arc...havent watched since episode 301 or something like that. but i do like the main story a lot. it does get better but dont look foward to anything extremely deep in its story telling. still its definatly worth a glance. right now im wathcing this anime thats on netflix....havent seen in about 2 weeks though but it was pretty good though.

it is, it actually has great story, unlike the rest of bleach after soul society. Still, Bersek > both but claymore gets close imo.

Bleach now is basically, 2 episodes getting owned by someone then power up then his power up then final technique i win.

Maybe a lot, but definitely not all of them. Bleach is entertaining, but the story is kinda lacking after SS arc. I'm up to date with the manga, and it would seem to be improving, but we'll see where it heads. But, I honestly don't know how much story Tite Kubo can actually make. He said it still has another 10 or more years left, which to me is a terrible idea. It's already far past it's prime, and he should really just try to end on a high note before ruining it more. Who honestly wants to follow the same manga for 20 years?

Which episodes of Bleach have you seen exactly? Not to be cynical but the further you go into the series, the more you'll realise Tite Kubo isn't exactly a good story teller.

Has nothing about me being a hater. Kubo sucks at story telling, it's that simple. Around the time of the Hueco Muendo arc it turns into one giant ass pull competition.

Hell, I'd call Kubo the Michael Bay of Anime/Manga.

It actually kind of drags out and gets boring.

There is even a few seasons which are completely filler. I made it to episode 205 before deciding to continue watching it at a later date.

I have always found the multi season anime to be disapointing. Promising in the beginning, but in the end they only exist to sell toys and video games. Essentially, if the anime is action/fighting, there is no sex or graphic violence and has way more than 26 episodes, the target audience is most likely middle school kids.

If you have netflix streaming, I suggest you check out the following on instant streaming.
