Slipknot's new CD is pretty amazing too.

Overrated band is overated. I dunno they just really arent my thing. I like some of thier songs but I think some people go just too far when it comes to liking them.Cougarhart61

Just remember guy EVERY band is overrated in SOMEONE's eyes. This is just my personal opinion. An overrated band can still be good... hell can even be great, but can still, none the less, be overrated.

FACT Metallica for life. This new album is very good haters can keep hating this is the best work they have done in 20 years. And no maybe not better then Justice or others but it is right on the tail end of there great 80's albums. This is a top notch Mettalica album. They are back they really are.

It was the same way with me and Unforgiven 3, but it grew on me pretty quickly.

Its pretty good. It sounds more like Load than ...And Justice For All. There are some solid tracks but its still not even as close to as good as there 80's stuff.honkyjoe

Unforgiven 3 sounds like a Load song, but the rest of the songs sound like they belong in between AJFA and the Black Album timeline wise.

You guys have to remember Metallica has been around for a long long time. And have put out some incredible music. And not to mention in there prime lost one of the best if not the best base player ever. RIP Cliff.

Anyway you can not expect them to just put out incredible music every single song. So yeah they had a few albums that kind of made us scratch are heads. But hey they had to go through some changes in times and i think they weathered it pretty good.

And now they have come back in a big way. No it's not the 80's again. What band really ever tops there legendary stuff. But hey Metallica is dam close with this album. So i'm going to appreciate it and know that i'm a fan for life and they basically destroy anyone in there path.

Hmmm...I haven't really heard anything I like yet. Judas Kiss, Day That Never Comes and Cyanide. The material I've heard is certainly better than St. Anger, but still relatively emotionless compared to their older material. Let's face it people. Metallica's heyday has come and gone. I completely respect where they started from, but I can't get behind where they've gone. I won't be buying this new album.

Unmatched how? There are a multitude of very talented metal bands out there who completely blow anything Metallica has done since "Justice" out of the water. I love Metallica. But, certainly not everything they've created.

When Metallica began, they had something to prove to the world. They also had a burning desire to do something different...basically playing faster and louder than other bands from that era (like Motohead, for example). Not a noble enterprise by any means, but still...they had ambition and heart back in the day.

Anyway, I appreciate and respect how they've continued to create music and try to evolve. I just don't like the evolution of their music. It seems like they're trying to maintain their lifestyle more than create something with real, visceral emotion.

I will glady argue that Metallica is not the best metal band of the 80's, not even close. Iron Maiden, Dio, Anthrax, Motorhead, to name a few, are much better than Metallica.

Agonizing to my ears bad. James just lost his voice. I don't like the way they sound (ever since Load). Sorry. I'm not feeling the vibe from this song. It's just not there. Same can be said about their previous flop effort, St Anger. I'm just not feeling these guys anymore.

Honeslty, their Black (commercialized) Album was atleast thier "good" last Album. At least they sounded better, although the songs were shorter.

Metallica simply sucks right now. And I don't ever see it changing. Just my opinion, of course.

I say quality of Black, but different sound. I will get it, but nothing will ever top Kill 'Em All. I prefer Megadeth overall to Metallica, but Kill 'Em All is better than any 'Deth album, IMO.iloverikku11

Master Kill-em All And Ride The Lightning and AJFA all DESTROY all the bands you listed. Why yes Iron Maiden was decent. Anthrax:lol: You kidding right? Motorhead:lol: please. Sure some of those bands had decent Songs. mainly maiden.

But please tell me what of those bands you named are still around and have been able to go commercial and gain national public spot light. And even bee on the same level as Metallica.

You watch The Day that never comes will win a Grammy this year for best hardrock song. And Metallica's new album stands a good chance of winning best heavy metal album of the year.

We know that Load and Re load kind of was underwhelming. And yes St. Anger was just well lets just forget it happened. Again all great bands have down albums. But you are all fools if you think that Metallica's new album is not way better then what we have seen from them in 20 years.

Another big problem is the kind of music Metallica plays is kind of a sound that is not really poparlor these days or for many years for that matter. At least not mainstream. So for Them to release this album and for it to be this good especialy with them being in there mid 40's is really amazing. Where are all those bands you named.
