How gruesome is this movie?

My family members are not particularly sensitive but they will likely be watching this film when it is rented soon and one of them grimaced when I mentioned that it was about a pedophile etc.

Dont spoil it. I have a fair idea of what MIGHT be in this film..

This movie is graphic. The only way they couldn't show some of the scenes is because it would have garnered an NC-17 rating.

There is violence, torture, language, murder, etc. in this film.

I STRONGLY recommend you watch this movie by yourself first or with a friend before you watch it with your family.

I would give this movie at least a 6 in the intensity factor. Some of the scenes are implied, but that doesn't make them any less intense. Trust me. This movie WILL question your ethics and morals.

I consider myself pretty open to intense or violent movies. I've seen a fair few in my time. This movie still makes me shiver.

Regardless, the person posting this was intending to watch this movie with his/her family. Not really a family friendly film. Unless your family is pretty open to intense movies I suppose.

You're wrong about that. They didn't show it because it didn't happen, they wanted you to feel like you were watching it happen. I'd give the movie a 2 as well, simply because of that scene, nothing else was really gruesome. I've shown my entire family that movie and they all liked it, I mean yeah it is kind of disturbing but now half as bad as some people make it seemScarface_tm431

its not that violent persay, just grusome in the violence and the overall sceme of things.

It made me shiver.
