Are you sure you did this right or were you planning to confuse people with the 1 dollar thing? Because if so that really works better in spoken form.

You seem to have confused "brain teaser" for "basic grade school maths..." don't worry, a lot of people get caught out on that one...

ok one more time:

he buys the radio for 25 and he gets 5 back so he gives every one of his sons 1 dollar so in reality the 3 sons give 9 dollars to their father to buy the radio( because the father give one dollar back to each of the boys) so it ll be 9+9+9 =27 righ? and the father kept 2 dollars

27+2= 29 where is the dollar left?

Still doesn't change it, the number 9 in there is irrelevant.

He had 30, he spent 25 making the remainder 5, if he gave a dollar back to each of the sons that still makes it a remainder of 2, problem solved.

The radio only cost 25!!! not 30

so 9+9+9=27 plus the dad gets 2 back thats -2

27-2 = 25

your working out the price of the radio

The riddle only exists in the phrasing of the question, so by pointing out the maths is wrong you've solved the riddle. Use your noggin, TC. Can I just establish though, that other riddle about the town with no history of crime: is the answer to do with there being no crime BECAUSE they lock their doors?

you told it wrong.

Here is the same riddle but with a different scenario. it is still easy anyway.

Three men checked into a hotel for the night. It cost $30 to stay at the hotel so each man paid 10 each. Then they went to bed. Later on in the night the manager realized he had overcharged the men by 5 dollars, so the manager sent the bellman up to the room to return the extra 5 to the three men.

But the bellman thought it would be hard to divide 5 dollars among three men. So he did them a "favor" and took 2 dollars, then divided the remaining 3 dollars to the men, one dollar per man.

Now each man paid 9 dollars instead of 10, because each man had a dollar returned. 9x3=27 dollars. Add the 2 dollars by the bellman and that's 29 dollars. But the night started with 30 dollars!

WHERE IS THE MISSING DOLLAR?

hey i told you the answer when adding 9+9+9 that is solving the price of the radio not how much the dad gets initially- but when you write it down you get time to think about it and realize it

but the internets is the internets you wontt get a much different reaction anywhere else

Tell me the answer! I just can't get my head around it...9x3=27+2=29...

30-5=25+3(1 for each bloke)+2(for the bellman)=30.

Noo!! ok one last time i will try to explain this

One day a father decided to buy a radio ok? ok, he gets 10 dollars for each of his 3 sons (because he doesnt have any money..) when he gets to the store and buy the radio, he gets 5 dollars back, so the radio costed 25$. when he gets home he gives each of his 3 sons 1 dollar and he keeps the 2 dollars.

so each son in reality gave to the father 9 dollars because they got 1 dollar back

so this is the problem

9+9+9=27 and the dad kept 2 dollars

27+2= 29 where is the dollar left?

ps: i m sorry english is not my first language so if you dont understand u can go **** urself :D

thanks you

There is no missing dollar. They did not each pay 9 dollars. They only thought they did. They each payed 8.33. 8.33+8.33+8.33= 25(you have to round because a penny cannot be divided) .They then got a dollar back. then the dad kept 2. So 25 + 3+2 = 30

We have to be careful what we are adding together. Originally, they paid 30, they each received back 1, thus they now have only paid 27. Of this 27, 25 went to the manager for the room and 2 went to the bellboy.

lol there you go
