Is that none of them are Multi Zone without hacks.

If any of you could reccomend me a blu ray player that comes region free out of the box, or a dvd player that looks just as good as a blu ray player with the hdmi setup, I would be so grateful.

Price is no object :P

mwahwahwahwahhwa. I must have the ultimate setup, and I am a connisour of east asian and french cinema so I cannot have a dvd player that is region locked :P

How would a DVD look anywhere near as good as a Blu-Ray film? :?

A complete lack of region coding is one of the things I really miss about HD-DVD. There was a Panasonic player that was region free a few years back, although it was pretty expensive ($500 or so). If most of the blu-rays you're playing come from a specific region, your best (and cheapest) bet might just be to import a blu-ray player from there and keep it alongside a North American one.

Meh, I'm not a big movie buff, hence not a fan of Blu Ray either. If I do happen to watch a movie on the occasion, more than happy to DVD it. When I'm in a shop and I see a BR movie on demo, I'm very impressed with the image quality, but it doesn't make me want one.

It also lacks support from most video playing programs and is difficult to rip. I'm forced to use PowerDVD.

Also, check out http://bluraysucks.com

I can notice the difference when I watch it on my PS3. But I'm just saying, some high quality DVD players may be able to look pretty dec also.

I strongly believe that it depends on the size of your TV. BlueRay doesn't seem to look any better than a DVD on my 26" HDTV. Gunna upgrade to a 40" soon though so will try on that also and see if there's a difference.

I have a 32'' HDTV and I see a big difference with the picture quality but the sound is a huge quality jump from dvd.
