For whatever reason, I've always had a fascination with motorcycles, especially the cruiser genre. Bikes such as this one makes me water at the mouth.

V-Rod

Sadly, I do not currently on a motorcycle though I have every intention of getting one as soon as I have have a steady income.

Well my question is, what do you think of motorcycles and those who ride them?

For the most part I think they look silly. I get why they're fun to drive, they just look silly. I did see an all flat black Harley with no chrome on it recently and that looked alright.

Never thought much of them. They're noisy, provide low odds of surviving a collision, and seem to inspire recklessness in the riders, as evidenced by the countless "look at me hit xxx mph on my bike!" videos on Youtube.

Yeah, many of the cruisers like this seem to appeal to the younger generation. Sport bikes I'm simply not as familiar with.

Yeah it was like that one (the right model I think) but in this case the dude had made the pipes and pretty much everything else black too. It is maybe the one bike I thought looked cool.

I love bikes! I'm getting a new one soon, possibly the Ninja 250 or the Honda CB 500.

Not into cruisers, they're comfy, but they don't provide the real biking experience, they can't corner and they're not fast enough.

This is the bike I most want, Honda Transalp:

Wouldn't mind getting a CBR 600 RR though. :P

Dangerous. I don't care how good a driver you are, it's the other drivers on the road that can cause problems, somebody merges into you by accident or rear ends you on the highway, your toast.

That's one of the big reasons many people ride in groups. It's easier to notice a group of bikes better than a single bike.

I think around £7000 brand new, not too sure, but you can easily get an older version for a lot cheaper though.

Cruisers, especially the ones by Harley Davidson, tend to cost more than sport bikes which is one of their drawbacks.

The 1000cc version is much more expensive. You should learn how, it's great fun, the new bike test has recently come in, not that hard though.

Yeah that's what I love about the repsol edition, it just looks cool, looks like a MotoGP bike.
Hmm, best get some leathers, expensive ones and a really good helmet and gloves. This site is really helpful, they test the helmets properley. A rider was once came off his bike and the bike somehow hit him on the head while it was in mid-air and because he had a really good helmet he just got up and walked away. I know it's costly but it's worth it.
Be very observative when on bikes. :) I hope you get one.

I think it's pretty much the ideal mode of transportation when it comes to efficiency if you're only moving yourself. I've got a small car, but there are always 3 other seats that never have anything in them. In my case a motorcycle would be more efficient in both materials utilized to manufacture, and the quantity of fuel required. Unfortunately, I don't trust myself to not get myself killed if I ever actually get on one.

Meh. I've never cared much for anything that drives, really. If it get me from point "A" to "B," comfortably, and isn't a complete eye-sore, then I'm fine with it.

Best support for bikes. They are just sensible.

I thought about the danger side, but I look at the world in a funny way, I thought "Why buy a big metal shell to protect me from other big metal shells?". So I ignored the danger side of things completely.

I also can't understand this stereotype of "dangerous bikers", that is just silly. On a bike you are going to be way more aware of what is going on around you (So you will drive safer), you are also far less of a danger to others (No big metal shell). There is going to be bad bikers just like there are bad car drivers.

They look like a lot of fun, and dangerous as hell. I'm not content to use my body as a bumper or a slab on the meat grinder, thanks. :P Also, it doesn't matter how safe you are, it's the other guy that's the problem. Bikes are hard to see, hear (until they pass you), and wearing a helmet restricts peripheral vision. Aside from that, they look like a blast and I'd own one if no one else ever drove. :D

I'm only into dirt bikes. Street bikes seem like death traps to me although my dad is a fan of both. Hes built a couple and is always working on a bunch of them. I live in the rural west of Canada too so I literally ride across my street and I'm in a farmers field. I live in a town for crying out loud.

Is it even possible to have a road legal MotoGP bike? They're tuned to the max and I don't think that first CBR you posted was tuned like the GP versions. :P
