[QUOTE="bobaban"]Just an FYI pushups are not a good indicator of strength. I can do over 200+.AL_GREENthats because you have no weight on you. pushups is the equivalent to lifting 60% of your weight. That's why I was saying its not a good fitness test. And BTW I do have alot of muscle mass, I couldn't do 200+ if I was a stick.
I do 2 sets of 60-65 6 days a week. Sometimes I throw in a 3rd set of 30-45 depending on how I'm feeling after the first 2. I max out around 70 in a set.
I can do like 20 now, I've been doing push ups before bed recently. Used to be able to do like 5 lol
I do two sets of 40-50 each day six days a week. I could probably do 60, maybe a little more in one go.chessmaster1989
Our regimens are very similar.

Looks like you outdo me a little though. It's about time I try to increase my per set though (usually I'll do 50 40). Though it's a lot better than when I started a couple months back and could only (barely) do 10 10 at first.
Man you guys must weigh 10 pounds. 50? 60? 200? Get some body weight and muscle first!F1_2004
I'm 6'1" and 200lbs. I can do 70 in a set on a good day. When I was 155lbs, I could do 90 in a set.
[QUOTE="pengo93"] I'm using this term from now on. As well as I.Pushups are for children, I can manage 30-50 planet thrusts in one session.

Actually push-ups (done properly) put a load on your core and even your legs, in addition to the workout that your chest, triceps, and shoulders get from them. They are a pretty good indicator of your ability to hold your body in a rigid, straight line from head to toe.. therefore they are a good indicator of real world strength. Sit-ups or another good core exercise are probably even more important though, since they improve core strength and toning, which can help keep your back inline and help your posture.
