So I guess the main question is do any of you currently, or used to go to, other forums in cyberspace? I find it interesting to learn about other forums and see if any others still might have some activity, and are worth posting at.

So feel free to share if you actually had good experiences with other forums, or you can most certainly share bad forums others should stay away from, that are tragically dreadful, and are among the worst forums you've ever been to.

If you want to know what other forums I go to, I don't really post at much else besides here. About the only other site I usually visit and to read up on are cracked.com articles, and I also drop in the occasional comment for certain articles/columns. I used to post at TV.com, but that was a long time ago, and that site is now a borderline deserted wasteland. Other places online I stumble upon and use seems to be once in a blue moon, and lastly, social media I don't really use much at all, I never use Twitter, and Facebook, I rarely use.

Huh? Did this get posted? Not sure why I'm not seeing this in the forums.

@Toph_Girl250: It takes a minute if you try to make a thread and I had that same problem if I'm going to make a thread.

On topic, I'm also on another Game site, game revolution where I go to there forums like GS but it can be really dead sometimes or boring. I don't post there that very often or go there but GR was my first game site though.

I only post on Gamespot forums. The community is large enough(even now) and there are always decent users around to have nice conversations. Apart from a couple zetaboards I visited very briefly like The Roll Call(about which I recently told you my opinion) and Dave's place(lol, I made a couple of posts there when I joined and never returned again), I've never really visited any other forums. Most have very small communities so I don't feel like joining.

Since GS is on a downward spiral, I love sports and the sports forum here is for all intend and purposes dead I finally diversified to a new sport forum (I have been looking for a while) in Operation Sports forum. It is also mainly a video games site so it is basically the GameSpot Sports forum x100 so I feel right at home. The site has been very good to me so far, yet after a while I decided to take a closer look to the community rules and, at least in rhetoric, in some ways they come out like fascist or at least disciplinarians (their way or the highway). Yet I'm not too worried since, rhetoric aside, I haven't had a single incident so far. Pretty happy to finally have a vibrant sport forum in my life.

IMDB is site where I might camp a while in messages boards for specific movies but I have never visited their more general forums.

And I take a peek every once in a while in the Daily Happening but that ain't my cup of tea.

Tried NeoGAF. Place was way too tyrannical for my liking. Posted on AWE until it got closed down. Been to TDH a few times.

I like GameSpot fine enough. At least you have a recourse with which to get grievances taken care of. I wish they would actually give us some quality features, though. Like being able to disable comments on walls, enable/disable PMs, and the ability to flag PMs.

Only post on GS now. I used to post in youtube comments but they quickly became cesspools. I like system wars and OT but it's unfortunate what this website has become. I enjoyed shows like on the spot and start select, the uk podcast also just how buzzing with activity this place was especially around E3.

Basically only post on GS, and that's out of habit since I've been doing it for about six years now. Still fun overall though. Tried another forum linked to this community and TDH but was never a big part and quickly stopped visiting (not for bad reasons). I should find a good film forum though now that FAU is/has been dead.

I only post here. I do check some game sub-reddits when an update comes out, but that's it.

Community-wise, GS is the best. GT had a really good community....had. It's dead now. MAL's forums are good if you like trolling and shitposting, albeit there are some really intelligent users that are able to hold some good debates and stuff. I also like the variety of forums on MAL but the community there is horrible.

I never posted in the MAL forums myself. I get enough anime talk with my friends and maybe the people here. Perhaps I'll start lurking a bit there. Perhaps...

If you actually stumble upon there. Roam the Current Events board. That's the most sensible one compared to the others. But MAL has one good point though. MAL is the best site to make friends over the globe and have chatter with them....if you have the socializing skills of course. What's your username btw?

Socializing skills hmm... I mostly use MAL to keep track of my (not so large) anime list and find info about anime. My username is GreyWarden13, you can add me I guess. :P

My experience with people on the Internet was generally bad.

In some other forum called brazzilforum/brazzilbrief (which was shut down by the way), a poster called 'Macunaima' insulted me and said that no woman will ever want to date me or have sex with me. Another poster there called 'jaboo' also made fun of the way I look and Macunaima together with jaboo both made fun of the way I look. They also made fun of the fact that I can't get laid.

And in some other message board called city-data forum the mods banned me from posting there and the women posters in the 'relationship' section of the board were generally unfriendly to me and said that I have nothing to offer to a woman.

I hope you get my point. Some people on the Internet are very antipathic.

GAF, mostly. It's the best forum for video game talk. I spend most of my time in the Football ("soccer") thread in OT Community too.

The majority of my forum posting is game related. Used to post on Onemanga when that was still up depending on what i was reading and if i wanted to bitch/discuss the recent chapters but that was off and on.

For a while, i was REALLY into fighting games so i frequented 8wayrun.com (SoulCalibur), and SRK.com (Capcom games) and discussed those games there.

I also went to xboxlive.com's forum because i figured i would meet new freinds/contacts there since i only have an xbox.

I used GS to also discuss whatever game i wanted at any time but lately i've just been using this place for all general game topics and OT.

NeoGAF is where I spend most of my time. There are some really good discussions on there and it's one of the most active forums out there.

I rarely come here anymore. Just started visiting again lately because I haven't been here in quite a while and still have these forums bookmarked.

Gamespot, The Gamer's Planet, Waifu World, The Roll Call, overclock.net, imdb, youtube and Neogaf are where I go to and well, my experience is good with most of them but I have some things to say about them.

imdb-Don't ever post in the forums, the community and mods are a complete joke there, I mainly use it for movie info.

overclock.net-Only good for PC gaming and hardware, console wise it's not worth it for that, just anything PC.

Gamespot-Oh, the big one, the 1st gaming forum I have ever joined. Going by my post count you would know I loved posting here a lot. From 2009-2012 those were my golden years. I slowed down in 2013 and then by 2014 I just decided to take a year break and not even bother posting at all, and this was due to the changes along with the fact I needed to stop posting a lot regardless. Now I'm back here in 2015 and honestly I don't know what I will do here as a lot of people left, changes to certain forums are for the worst, and honestly, I moved on in a lot of ways as I don't have plans to post here a lot ever again. Who knows what will happen in the future, but I must say I won't be the same ever again.

Neogaf-I joined back in 2013 and besides the strict rules this is honestly one of my fav gaming site out there. What I love most are the community threads that actually feel like a community is moving threads along with something new. In fact this site could take some lessons from Neogaf when it comes to those threads as well. I have no problems with the site itself as I never get modded or anything like that. It's also my go to site for gaming news as this site is slow as hell in comparison. Overall I will stick with the site for a long while now.

Not many. IMDB is a dumpster fire, way too easy to troll and get people posts deleted.

In the past I frequented a couple of forums before settling at GS. They both were a long time ago now that I think about it. At any rate I believe they're both dead now so there is no point in mentioning them to anyone. One was decent enough with a lively community with common interests though it had a disproportionate number of really eccentric users, like hardcore, disturbingly eccentric not the cute variety. The other was an anime community that was closed down because of copyrights shenanigans. That one wasn't all that active I mostly used it for my anime needs at the time and the forums were the occasional detour. There were some other forums in the past but I didn't spend enough time there for them to make an impression or stick in memory.

Of all the forums I frequented GS' are by far the absolute best which is precisely why it is a shame that the community isn't what it used to be anymore. A few years ago we truly had an internet phenomenon going on here.

Right now, my internet activities in general are pretty limited, when compared to their predecessors at least. The only non-generic site that I regularly frequent is OT. Depending on recently made topics and whatever links that might be provided there I would visit other sites just to read an article or a piece of news. Of course I constantly google stuff that I have a need for but that doesn't count naturally. I visit a torrenting site on daily basis for my download needs and I stop by youtube only when I have a specific thing in mind. Imdb is my go-to source everything movies related. That's pretty much about it.

I like it this way. As a mere means to end the internet shouldn't take up much of one's time and resources. Who has the time and the energy for internet addiction anyway.

I always wanted to join Neogaf but to no avail. They request a business or a paid email address and won't accept any of the popular free email domains upon registration. I hear of the strict rules there but I don't think I'd have a problem with that. The community looks lively and quite active. But this whole exclusive club thing is an overkill to be honest.

I don't really post much anywhere these days as most forums where I used to post got destroyed or became too toxic or too boring for my tastes. Generally I just lurk at various movie or off topic boards here and there and occasionally answer a question or offer up a suggestion or two, but that's about it.

My first forum was TheTLDR.com and it is probably the most hostile posting environment I've ever seen. I prefer the layout of it the most, and the fact that it notifies you of nods and keeps a good archive of post count/nods/etc which you can opt out of if you want. They are a very old WoW spin off forum that started with mostly swedish people and I have been on there for a couple years. (I don't have an old posting background.) TLDR has a no ban policy so you get every color of the rainbow as far as good/bad posters and strange personalities.

I became affiliated with TDH because TLDR raided them or posted there as a group for some reason. TLDR often had absorbed other forums before, at least 3 off the top of my head, and this one was too active. I joined out of curiosity and now I post there as well.

Same goes with GS, I found this place through TDH joking about past memories here. I wanted to be in the loop so I joined. No inside jokes to share as of yet.

Yeah, I post in other forums. I post in one of them even more so than GS these days. GS wasn't even my first forum. I joined my first forum in 2001. The experiences I've had in other forums haven't been too bad lately.

Why yes there is. :P Other forums out there being as active or even more active than this place, while also having a community as good as this one at the same time, though, is a different story. Probably have as good a chance of stumbling upon one of those as you are spotting a cow with two heads, in some random dude's farm. :P
