They do "work" but not in the way you might think.
Nothing supernatural about them at all.
It's just how the human brain works to give the illusion that two or more people have no control over what is being spelt out.
But infact it just plays on the fact that most people jump to the same conclusion.
I would stay the hell away from those kinda stuff. In essence, its the same as or is black magic.
A kid was expelled from my school for bringing it. Ya, its that serious where I live. DONT use it.

I tried one when I was younger. My parents found out and were mad. But yeah, can't you stick with horror games or something? Ouija Boards are bad news.
PS. It didn't work anyway.

Wow, you're so terribly mysterious! It's got something to do with people holding the glass and having the will to move it to where they want, tiny musle movements direct it slowly. When one friend starts the momentom, the others tend to go with it.I got this new game for the wii. it's a ouija board on the wii. it's call wiigeeI prefer Weegee Boards.

Seances can be a lot of fun. It can be a blast at parties, particularly with some mates 'in on the act'.
Just make a board! We've even used a normal kitchen bench with letters written on paper and a standard glass...
A few tips:
Ensure to have a mate positioned at the mains board for the sudden 'power out effect'. Here's another little trick that always gets a response. When you set up the ouja board, light some candles. Make sure that you don't have enough candle holders, then use a thin glass to hold one of the candles. Sit the candle in the glass so that the flame heats the glasses edge. Later when everyone is 'asking for a sign', the glass will break. This doesn't always happen at the perfect time, but it will really freak chicks out regardless ;)

I'm telling you guys. There is nothing supernatural about them.
You don't need to buy one really either. Just make one, it will work the same.
Search for an image of one and print it off or copy it.
Basically, they're like a clever illusion trick. They appear to work but it's all happening because of the people taking part and not any supernatural element.
Our brains naturally work together to spell out the words based on what letters are put down one at a time (and with yes and no questions being drawn to the obvious conclusion) The illusion happens because each person tugging on the same spot makes it feel like that point is moving by itself.
It is quite amazing how are minds work and it is a clever trick.
we're talking about ouija boards......... not sex!I'd like to try it, in a proper environment & with the right people though.

 where do you live? The Bible Belt? Well fortune tellers are scary looking in my opinion. :P This guy shows up regularly at the Spanish news show that my mom watches, and she always turns off the TV or changes the channel when he shows up. http://www.milcho.com/images/3Walter_Web.JPG.jpgOh yeah. i never understood that being on the news,I always just turned it off at that point if I was watching.[QUOTE="TheFragcat"]we're talking about ouija boards......... not sex!I'd like to try it, in a proper environment & with the right people though.

Great call.
I heard a story where this girl messed with one of those. She was possessed by a demon, and a guy I knew had to go to her and do a blessing over her (he's Catholic) to remove the demon.
My cousin's friend tried it, something went wieird, got really scared and and shot himself in the head 2 days later. I am not touching or being around one not because I neccessarily think it is true but of the shock factor.
