I tried rewatching all the classic shows like a few episodes ofHey Arnold, Rugrats, Doug, Tiny Toons, Ahhh Real Monsters and Animaniacs. Honestly, they aren't that entertaining now since I'm much older. Everyone from my generation (late 80s-90s) keep going on about how our cartoons are better than the crap we have now (Fosters, Spongebob, Ben 10 etc) when really, they aren't that much different. If spongebob or fosters came out in the 80s/90s when we were still kids , everyone would be talking about how great they were too. People also say that shows like spongebob got worse over the years. Maybe it stayed the same, YOU JUST GOT OLDER!!

Dont let nostalgia cloud your judgement.

No, Spongebob seriously got worse. I can watch an older episode of Spongebob now and still laugh, while watching the newer episodes, I do not laugh.

I'd rather watch Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends than Ducktales. If Ducktales came out this year instead of in the 90s, everyone would be hating on it and saying cartoons aren't what they used to be. It's just nostalgia thats making you remember the good times you had watching that show. You're all brainwashed I tell you!!

Its the hater inside you that clouds your judgement. Its like when I was watching an episode of spongebob with my friend a few weeks ago, and he started loling from a scene on the show and said, "man, the newer episodes arent this funny." I was like, "this episode is brand new..."

Foster's is a great show. There are plenty of great cartoons today. Likewise for the past. Rocko's Modern Life is a great show.

Umm, no, shows like Animaniacs and Looney Tunes were undeniably better than basically all cartoons today... they are also just about the only two kids' cartoons I will still watch. :P

I'd say that a lot of cartoons from the bygone age of the 80's and 90's were better in certain aspects but not all have aged well. Take the GI Joe cartoon as an example, watch an episode and try not to facepalm at some of the stupidity that goes on in that show.

i've watched fosters home. Ducktales > fosters. just watched some of an episode on youtube. Ducktales holds up today.

though fosters is a good show too. I'm not one that says there are no good shows now. just that there are ones from the 80s and 90s that are still good today.

I used to love that song too, after I heard it on the Rugrats in Paris soundtrack. I even lip-synced to it with my "band" for a class presentation. I thought I was so cool:lol:

I gave the newer episodes as much of a chance as the older ones, and the newer ones failed to make me laugh.

I don't hate current cartoons because of nolstalgia or whatever, I do not like current cartoons because they simply fail to entertain me.

No kidding. Why would you watch cartoons today for anything but nostalgic purposes? :| I don't want to be harsh/rude, but I'm under the impression you just learned what the word nostalgia meant.

There are still some shows from back then that are interesting to watch still today i feel. It just goes by who is asking/watching... etc. Everyone has and had different taste in the cartoons they watched and as you get older your taste can change drastically. I think i'm going to go back and try to watch some of those older shows like Ahh Real Monsters, Hey Arnold, Ducktales... etc. and see how i like them now. I forgot about most of them, so i applaud you on remembering.

Courage the cowardly dog, Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd & Eddy, Darkwing Duck, Dexter Laboratory, Catdog, Eek the cat, Big guy and Rusty, Spiderman, Batman, and Superman are all worth watching in my opinion.. Theres actually more cartoons worth watching by today standards, I just can't think of them right now....

I Don't Like The Cartoons These Days On T.V None Of Them Can Compare To What I Use To Watch Back In The 90's. To Me One Of The Best Cartoons Was Rocko's Modern Life. I Use To Watch Duckman When I Was Little Living Back In Trinidad Then When Tele-Toon Brought It Back I Freaked That Was Such A Great Cartoon To.

Sorry, but no. I can still sit down and watch all the shows you mentioned and have a great time. Just last night I was watching Hey Arnold and Rocko's Modern Life and I was laughing non-stop.
