An animal rights group in France is under fire after three of their activists were caught on camera stealing a homeless man's puppy. The heartbreaking video shows the man wailing as members of Cause Animale Nord take away his dog.

The video, captured in central Paris, shows a male and female activist wrestling the unidentified man to the ground before snatching the animal hiding behind his luggage. The yelping puppy is then handed off to a third activist who runs off.

The owner can be heard sobbing as he leaves his possessions to catch the thief.

Nghi Le Duc witnessed the scuffle and posted the video to Facebook on Sept. 20. He described what he saw as activists acting "violently, mercilessly" as they took a "homeless man's friend," according to the International Business Times.

Source. Video.

Is the puppy safe now? Asshats.

Everything about this is fucked up. I need a flowchart to really describe it. Seriously you have a guy with nothing in the world, but a puppy and instead of trying to improve the human's life (which would also improve the puppy's life, you remove the puppy from his owner taking away a small source of joy (likely one of his only joys) so that you can help an while leaving the a person worse off.

How does this show the activists humanity? How does it help the puppy, and how does it do anything, but harm a homeless person? It's really very depressing.

That's just disgusting. Some of these animal rights groups are little more than criminals.

I've heard stories of labs being broken into to save labrats, years of research destroyed. Those labrats could be carrying anything but all die because they have no immunities. Don't know if this is true but I heard Peta members dug up some guys mother because he worked in a lab. Don't they kill animals they can't re home, yeah animal rights my ass.

Hope the guy can get his puppy back but then again most just view homeless people as sub human trash to be cleaned up, sickening.

The group involved is not peta, and they are putting the puppy up for adaption. Still a sick story though, for the homeless guy that puppy was probably one of his only sources of companionship.

Wow , these people can only be severely mentally challenged.

Stealing a homeless man's only friend in a life that is already fucked up enough.

I could understand if they witnessed him beat it to pulp. But wow just wow some middle class privileged kids today.

I bet that puppy is better with the homeless man than in an animal shelter, I don´t know about France but in ´Murica the last place a dog would like to end up is in an animal shelter, it´s the antechamber of death row ( anybody has seen the documentary "One Nation Under Dog" ? )

That's low. Infact I'd say that's worse then stealing what money he's been given by people who's passed by.

Possibly the only companion the poor guy has and a source of comfort.

We can say that given the fact that the poor man ran after the puppy leaving all his belonging behind.

Exactly.
I kinda hope someone, out of sheer charity, buys the dog and returns it to the man.

While it is heartbreaking and that puppy might be his only companion I wouldn't assume that the dog is being taken care for properly, even by "he is a homeless guy so give him a break" standards.

Like I said, I don't wanna think about it.

Doesn't matter on that front though. It is simply illegal to seize someone else's property without any legal document.

I honestly am speechless. As depressing as the story itself is, I find it so much more depressing that these turds value a puppy more than a fellow human being already dwelling with wretchedness and misery. There are so many of them out there which is fucking dismal.

I think fanatical animal rights activists suffer from some form of zoophilia. There's no way they harbor such fanaticism on purely altruistic basis given the irrationality of such actions as the one in this story where an animal is favored over other human beings, defying nature in the process.

If I were that homeless man and someone tried to steal my animal like that, you'd be damn sure I'd make it my goal in life to hunt those people down and ruin them.

Good. The more this bunch of uneducated, heartless, criminal sons of b!tches draw negative attention towards them the sooner the authorities will be pushed into cracking down on them.

Good. I hate it when homeless people try to keep pets that they obviously can't feed or take care of. Those activists were in the right. No use starving a puppy just so a homeless man can have a "companion".

I wonder how many of the people in this thread siding with the homeless man have ever actually done anything to help the homeless...probably not. I spent most of my high school years helping to organize a homeless feeding group, fed ~50 people once a week. Spent Christmas eves handing out warm clothes in the hood downtown. Only the crazy ones have pets, the sane ones realize they can't care for an animal in their current living situation.

Good for you, Please tell us more from your moral high ground how one should ambush the homeless and steal from them what they possibly have as their only comfort when people generally ignores them on the street.

Exactly... while it is extremely sad for the man, we don't know the full story. Maybe the dog wasn't getting the care it needed. Who knows.

But it still shouldn't have been handled like that. Ridiculous.

How realistic is it for most of the people who are angry to do something to help him? There is absolutely nothing wrong with simply being angry about something.

You don't think it's a little weird that it seems that people are upset that he got his puppy taken away, but not that he lives on the streets? That would basically equate to them returning the dog and then letting the man continue his existence exactly as it was.

I'm not saying that what the activists did isn't awful, but it just strikes me as odd that people are solely upset because of the dog. I understand that's human nature, but that doesn't make it not messed up.

No they weren't in the right, because it's not for them to decide that the man can't properly take care of the dog. And this is coming from someone who doesn't give a **** if the homeless man lost his only friend. Being homeless and needing a friend DOESN'T mean that friend should have to suffer inhumane conditions. Same way that people's kids get taken away if they're being neglected. "Wah, but it's my only son!" Tough titty. Should have taken better care of him, and then he wouldn't be taken away right now.

The problem here is that (from what I can tell) the dog was taken away by people who had ****-all authority in the matter. I don't see any police detaining the man while uniformed animal control officers take the dog. This appears to just be some random-ass people who decided that the man had no business owning a dog, and then took the dog. If that's the case, then **** THAT. That's like some random-ass man stealing my guns because he doesn't agree with me having them. If the state makes an official determination that someone's property needs to be confiscated, then that's different and it needs to be done in a professional manner. But we don't get to just go out and take someone's shit because we think they're not fit to have it. That's just plain theft.
