Overwhelming praise for ther Futurama episode The Late Philip J. Fry? Why?

It seems critics almost akin it to the cIassic Futurama episodes.

It was easily the best episode in the new season. The scene where they watched the universe end was absolutely fantastic.

I loved it! Probably one of the best episodes ever, I highly suggest watching it in HD. Yes it actually makes a difference if you can believe that. But in general I can sympathize with that episode, being angry and finding out years later it wasn't their fault with Leela is what really got me. :(

the fry/leela love situation is always interesting/charming...

Bender screwing the guys out of getting a backwards time machine out of spite for not staying in the robot future

the birthday card actually reaching leela, years later... (another tear jerker)

almost anything(like most episodes) that came out the professor's mouth, funniest character in animation, yeah i said it.

I thought the episode was just ok but then the universe part came and I was like WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAA.

It was the best of the new series so far, but it's really pathetic that some people are claiming it was "fantastic" or on par with the original series. It's not even close to that level, but it does give some hope. Not much, but some...Dark__Link

how is that pathetic. It's an opinion. I really loved this episode and found it more entertaining than some of the first four seasons episodes.

But why do you care so much? EVERY Futurama thread I see you come in and say you can't understand how anyone could like it and indirectly bash people who do. Give it a rest man. You can criticize the season without criticizing the people who like it.

Because it was really funny. The proffessor killing Hitler Bender stepping on the first fish out of water, and I loved when they landed in that female utopia and fry and the proffessor were so excited, and Bender was like "pass!" and hit the switch.

I'll probably just avoid these threads from now on... unless the series actually does pick up and become good again.... in which case everyone will probably hate it. :P

I thought it was great. Second best episode this season so far(with Lethal Inspection being first).

I liked it, but I wasn't "wowed" or anything like that.

I will admit that this latest episode, "The Darn Katz", wasn't that great. =/CocoMarshmellow

I watched the first couple episodes of the new season and I thought it was rubbish (especially compared to the new episodes). I guess I should continue watching.

It was pretty good. On par with some good older episodes, and I agree it's the best of the new episodes so far.
