It's probably 'cause he was in one of the best Rock bands of all time but he made some incredible songs when he was solo.Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, Mama I'm Coming Home, Dreamer, andChanges are all classics, and he's had some other big hits aswell..Anyone else agree he is underrated as a solo artist?

No he's not... many metal fans listen to him.. and even others know about him. Not to mention his guitarists have been some of the most famous in metal, Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, and Zakk Wylde... so I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

IF ANYTHING HE'S OVERRATED, DIOFTW! SERIOUSLY, OZZY MAY BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO MAKE GOOD MUSIC BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT HE'S A GOOD SINGER AT ALL. DIO'S WAY BETTER, AND HAD A BETTER BAND FOR HIS FIRST FOUR CDS.LordDarkstorn
dio has nothing on ozzy. hes amazing, sure id say hes the second best metal singer out there. but ozzy destroys him

I think he's actually a little overrated. He was great when he was with Sabbath.Nowadays he just tends to bore me.

First off, I love Ozzy both with Sabbath, and solo, but it seems to me that Ozzy is a little too mainstream now. I mean I look on my friends iPods all the time and none of them like metal, but they all have some Ozzy on there. It also disappoints me that some people I've come across walking around with an OZZY FOR PRESIDENT shirt on even though theyve only heard Crazy Train. I even heard "I Don't Wanna Stop" on my local popular music station for crying out loud.

So if more people start liking the band that means they become worse for you? :|

i dont get that attitude either. as long as an artist stays true to themselves they are still repectable. nowadays people assume sellout and popular is the same thing but it isnt.

After thinking about that statement for a while, youre kind of right. I mean I want the best for him and everything and I want his music to sell, butI don't like seeing all the people that are all of a sudden Ozzy fans now that hes "popular". I was talking to a buddy that normally listens to whatever the newest fad band is and he said "Hey man did you know that guy from the tv show THE OSBOURNES has a band? And he just released an album? Its pretty good!" And I told him yes I know I got it the day it came out, and it turns out he didnt know about all the other classics that hes releaed over the years. He thought Black Rain was Ozzy's first album. The fact that one of the greatest metal artists ever has become a fad kind of irritates me yes.

that does get irritating sometimes but you gotta remember that to people who truly like music hes very respectable as he has never changed himself in order to become more popular

Totally overrated as a solo artist. He was brilliant in Black Sabbath although the last couple of Black sab albums with him werent as good as the later ones without him.

He rocks with and without Black Sabbath. I'm surprised people have been hearing the new song on pop radio. I wish it came on when I was on the bus to school but I have to put up with Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte :(.
