ok first off let me say i have used the ipod touch before because my friend owns one and i own a (half) working zune 1st gen right now. with that said

I am looking into a new mp3 player. I stumbled around and found the Samsung P2. The thing that cought me was that it is a touch screen mp3 player but has volume button on the sides so i can run with it or adjust it in my pocket. Something i had trouble with with my friends ipod. both are getting closer and closer price wise (8 gig versions) so my question is which one do you prefer?

ipods are overrated, you pay for the brand not the mp3 player

I have the P2 and let me tell you sound quality is excellent. Bluetooth is really usefull allows to share any file permanently with any bluetooth device (celphones other mp3 players) and allows to pick up calls when paired with a phone. Its Drag and drop as well as you can sync it with Windows media player or this samsung software which IMO is awful. The only thing wrong with it is the controlls, the touch screen takes getting used to, its less responsive than the ipod touch. If you get one make sure to download a firmware update or you wont get most of the features.

since you can sync with window media play does that mean i can coonect it to my friends and use his music as well? or is it like an ipod where you have to wipe it before?

i also own the samsung p2 and i compared it with my sisters ipod touch and after a while imo the gimmick wears off. The p2 is much better with more functions and like the other guy said the controls takes a little while to get used to. Also if you do get the p2 download the latest firmware

I own a P2 also. Yes, it does kick ass. Yes, the screen is kind of funky but you'll get used to it. To me, it's way better than my iPod.
