I thought Paranormal Activity was great.
The Fourth Kind is supposed to be terrible.
I'd go with Paranormal Activity.
Thanks guys, is it really the scariest movie ever?
pilot872
not the scariest EVER, but its still damn scary
i loved it
havnt seen the 4th kind yet but my feind told me they tried way to hard to tell you "OMG gaiz, all this fottage is real!! i swear! im super serial! its real!!"
Paranormal Activity was not that great and certainly not scary. I expected so much and came dissapointed.
Paranormal Activity had me engaged a lot more than 4th kind. It drew me in, and had me in anticipation. 4th kind was a decent one too, but it didn't draw me in fully like P.A. did. But I gotta say, 4th kind has the most startling and chilling scene out of the two movies.
I'm going to have to go with Neither. Go with the sci-fi film surogate.. it's much more relevant to the direction of our society.
Paranormal activity by far, it felt more real and atmosphereic. The fourth kind was ok, but it felt way too cheesy and there was tons of bad acting. It tries way too hard with its fake archive footage to convince you its real. It has some creepy moments though, but its nowhere near as good as paranormal activity. I wouldnt say paranormal activity is the scariest film ever, not by a longshot, but it is still a fantastic film with some good creepy moments.
i hope your not serious :lol:Both suck. The horror genre should be kill once and for all (kill comedy toowhile your at it).

What is wrong with 4th kind? I haven't seen either, but 4th looks better. I prefer real documentary over pure fiction, real occurrences are creepier than fake things..at least to me..I thought Paranormal Activity was great.

The 4th kind is just as fake as Paranormal activity. If not more because they really went out of there way to show fake archive footage. That whole film about Nome Alaska having the most dissapearences is BS. The film wasn't even show in Alaska, I think it was shot in Bulgaria.

I'm pretty sure the archive footage wasn't fake..you got solid proof it was? I know they do archive footage and re-enactments..but I was sure the archive was real.[QUOTE="Film-Guy"][QUOTE="DeadMagazines"] What is wrong with 4th kind? That is just one of the sites I found. The 4th kind is very fake. it is still worth seeing, but I dont think it is as good as Paranormal activity. It looks much more fake and staged. Never believe a film when it says it is based on something real, it is either very loosely based like the texas chainsaw massacre, or complete BS.

It sucks, but its been done before. Unfortunatley truth is a very subjective term in hollywood.
Paranormal Acitivty is great and very well done. The film is not a gimmick, though Paramount is making a advertising campaign like it is, but it is working extermely well, The fourth kind seems to be a huge gimmick with the fact that they're making it out to be real.Jazz_Fan
Yeah the Fourth Kind is trying way too hard to convince people it is real. The Archive footage looks pretty fake and cheesy for the most part and all the actors are very melodramatic.
Paranormal activity is excellent. If your definition of horror is being shocked instead of scared, it's probably not for you. It's very minimalist and starts off slow, which makes what does happen later all the more effective. The acting is decent (and all improvised, i.e. Blair Witch), and some scenes are downright freaky. One of the best horror films I've seen....maybe not the best, but up there. If you'd rather have everything spelled out for you though and find things like screamers frightening, it's probably not your thing. It leaves mostly everything to the imagination, there is no gore (barely), and the horror is very subtle. Tension is what it excels at.
See it, it's worth going to the cinema for. Haven't seen the 4th kind so I can't comment about that one.
