So many teenagers belive their parents are embarrasing. They do not uderstand their parents are the people who raised them and helped them grow. Parents are undderated. This thread is for parents. GO PARENTS.
I hate when people say they hate their parents for no reason. I love both of my parents dearly, and sure they embarass me sometimes, but that's just the nature of all parents.
I hate ma parents for multiple and stupid reasons, but I respect them deeply cuz they gave me life and they feed me and all when I wasn't able to do it ba maself. YOU FEEL ME????
Indeed, the role of parents is paramount in helping children grow into good people. However when that position is neglected or abused the results are disastrous.

I've had to fight him many times for things like getting in my moms face. The thing you have to understand is its not so much the kids that are wrong, its the parents that have done a sorry job....;)
I think parents are overrated. When something good happens involving their kids, they are always there to take credit. Yet when those kids do something terrible, they disappear or are the first to blame video games, music, movies, ect.
I don't think they are underrated, most teenagers don't like them because they are over protective or they don't aren't protective enough depending on the situation.
I actually adore my parents. I couldn't care less if other people look down on their parents. Everyone I know looks at my parents and knows that they're awesome. They always comment on how cool they are and wish they had them growing up. Granted, they were very strict and shielded me from many things. I couldn't watch violent television shows or listen to anything with cuss words in it. For crying out loud, Captain Planet was forbidden to me. But, for those reasons, I'm a morally steadfast person now. And that's not implying that you can't be a morally steadfast person without this type of parents...to avoid confusion.
They shielded me from drugs, alcohol and other things. I'm said to have an addictive personality, and I'm certain that if they weren't the parents they were to me, that I'd be an alcoholic now. I have no shame in admitting that. Thank the Lord for caring parents.
Some parents are overated in my opinion becasue my dad when i was younger used to beat me for no reason like if he had a bad day at work he would take it out on me, mum just used to watch, but now i don't even talk to him, i live on my own in a college dorm until i find a flat, plus if he started now he knows i would drop him quite easily since i have been going to the gym and working out since i was 14 because i didnt want to be walked all over for the rest of my life.
i get along well with my mum even though she did say i was a mistake and she didn't want me when she was pregnant lol.
Even though there are times I can be pissed off at them, I still love my parents with all my heart. If it wasn't for them doing it one more time I wouldn't be here. =P
While I do generally agree with that statement, I'd be lying if I said my relationship with my father is great, we've had a falling out and both of us are to proud and stubborn to attemp at reconciling however I do still love and respect him, and I loved my mother with all my heart, unfortunatelly she died when I was 12.

I can pretty much gaurantee that every kid has SOME reason to dislike their parents, albeit they likely are outweighed by the positives....
I for one have some anger towards my parents for buying campers and freaking Comcast On Demand, while I am sitting here worrying if I am going to be able to pay for college and I likely will be stuck living here for the remainder of college just because of my lack of money.....
