It's for charity and they give celebs easy questions so it's basically guaranteed that there will be a donation to charity. Usually $50,000 questions are a lot harder than that.

Why is everyone calling this question a mathematical question? That's pretty much an insult to math. You get stuff like this in elementary school.

I could see that question messing up a lot of ppl. Math is the subject that gives ppl more anxiety than any other and this one was in front of an audience and on tv. yes if you looked at the choices it's actually pretty easy. but math just throws some ppl off to the point they aren't thinking anymore.Ontain

They may have put the answers in a very weird format but it still took me all of 5 seconds of thinking to realize there was only one answer that was even CLOSE so it is insanely obvious. Considering only two of the answer even hit the $5 mark, one of which hits that mark exactly and you need the answer to add up to $7.50 it makes it so there is only one answer thats even close....

I love the way Regis tried giving her the answer right away and it still took her forever....

It was pretty obvious A was the answer, that's sad though that even Regis helped her :lol:

I actually liked her in Everybody Loves Raymond. That is awful. Though it was funny when the audience cleapped for her when she figured out that it would equal $7.50.

I didn't even need to do the math all the way through to figure out which one it was. C and D were so obviously wrong it wasn't funny, and if you thought about B for a half a second you'd see that it wouldn't add up to 5$ which the answer had to be greater than. Pretty embarrassing on her part.

Well the next night the question was "If you have 4 shirts and 3 pairs of pants, how many combinations of 1 shirt and 1 pair of pants can you have?" That gave the "celebrity" (dammit can't remember her name Country singer, red hair) She had just about as much trouble as Patricia Heaton.

I couldn't figure it out as I am not American so I am unsure what like "dimes" are etc.
