I prefer pens since it just feels a lot smoother to write with. When I don't use pens, I use mechanical pencils :)

No! I accidentally clicked Pens and voted. That's not true!
..I usually use mechanical pencils on preferably graph paper. The vertical lines (maybe just that the graph paper I've got is thicker?) make my writing neater or something, and it's easy to draw diagrams/graphs to go along with notes.
For an essay or an assignment like that I use a computer.
Pen - For writing notes/ doing homework
Pencil - For Drawing Art
Mechnical Pencil - For writing stories and poetry
[QUOTE="Tylendal"]Why don't you have gel pens as an option? Way smoother writing than normal pens.NiKvaI'd imagine that everyone uses gel-ink pens :/ People who use any other are doing it wrong Exactly. Gel ink or GTFO. I swear if you balanced a gel pen well enough, you could just give it a gentle push and it would skate across the paper.
Pens feel so much better for writing.
Drawing on the other hand
Though what feels best is a tablet pc and some wet oil brushes in photoshop.

It's like taking the clouds themselves, stuffing them inside of a pen and writing with it.
I use all 3. Pens, pencils and mechanical pencils.
Its sad that people these days dont even use regular No. 2 pencils anymore these days. All they use these days still are mechanical pencils
Another reason why I use pens is because it doesn't hurt my hands as bad. I can write four pages with pens before my hand starts to hurt. It only takes me two for a pencil :(NiKva
You can get fat pencils that might feel better if you need to use a pencil for a long period of time. I had a pack of "ergonomic" pencils.. They weren't mechanical, but they were really comfortable.

Fat pencils? I'm not in preschool anymore.[QUOTE="IcyToasters"][QUOTE="NiKva"]Another reason why I use pens is because it doesn't hurt my hands as bad. I can write four pages with pens before my hand starts to hurt. It only takes me two for a pencil :(NiKva

I only hold my pencil with two fingers.
Where is the option for both? I use pens and mechanical pencils. I often draw pics out for work and pencils make it easier to fix stuff. For paperwork, I try to use my laptop, it's easier to write new reports when all you have to do is change the accept/reject criteria and what welds were inspected.

They're pencils covered in a black grip layer with three sides and a slightly larger diameter so you don't have to close your hand as hard to get a grip :3NiKva

Writing hand; somewhere between open and closed:
NiKva hand:
Don't say you said two fingers, not a thumb and a finger. :P
