Well, I tend to write too fast and make a lot of mistakes, so pencils are a lot more practical for me... however, I really love pens that glide really well and write nicely, so I tend to grab a pen over a pencil unless I'm at school.
Pencils. I never saw the big deal with pens; they have all the writing with none of the easy error correction. I pretty much never use a pen unless specifically required to do so.
