The HDTV actually is entirely optional in most cases. The wireless adapter, I'd say no. If a PC gamer plays games that are old as dirt, than maybe they could get away with playing a game with as much technology as a console gamer.

PC Gamers have to buy a computer, possibly a better graphics card, possibly a better processor, they may need a bigger screen, they may have to buy a headset, they may have to buy a better hard drive, and they have to buy the game. Console gamers have to buy the console, the games, and (if they absolutely need it) a headset (SOCOM FTW!!). On top of that, they may have to buy a router to play online (and if they have a 360 or Xbox they'd have to buy the service). A majority of the time, PC gamers have to spend way more money to play the games they desire so greatly.

I did read, and your last bit makes no sense, 5-10 years? I guess every one must be a nerd because most replace their televisions with new ones in that time period, and they cost usually way more then $100.

PC gamers are nerds. Console gamers are not. Which frankly is rediculous; its OK to play six hours of Halo 3 but the second someone finds out I spend 10 hours a week on World of Warcraft I am an addict? Dubyuh Tee Eff, mate?!
