Anyone find this extremely annoying? And what I mean by it is a different actor/actress cast in the same role for the movie.

The lack of Rachel Wiesz in Mummy 3 was a big reason why it suxed, on the other hand the lack of Katie Holmes in The Dark Knight was a big plus...I guess it depends, but Id prefer they try to get the same actors/actesses.

Generally it's annoying, but sometimes, as prior mentioned, it makes it better, like katie holmes being replaced by Maggie Gylenhall

Robocop 3 was bad for many reasons, one of which was a change in lead actor. Peter Weller pulled off the robotic movements in the first two movies without it looking too stupid, but the guy they hired for the third one turned Robocop into a bad mime. The Mummy 3 was also bad for many reasons, but the lack of Rachel Weisz was the final nail in the coffin, made worse by her replacement's godawful, humourless acting. Rachel was a good part of why the first two movies were so tolerable, and you could completely understand why O'Connell wanted to nail her. In the third movie, you just felt sorry for what his wife had become. The change in Dumbledore also weirded me out, although I understand the change was made out of necessity rather than anything else. I liked Richard Harris' slightly softer Dumbledore, but oh well. Oh yeah, and the change in Meg's voice in Family Guy after the first season. It's weird going back and listening to her without her Kunis whine.

Hannibal was awful, but that wasn't because Jodie Foster wasn't in it..

It depends on how well the new actor does.

[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"] The change in Dumbledore also weirded me out, although I understand the change was made out of necessity rather than anything else. I liked Richard Harris' slightly softer Dumbledore, but oh well.

Apparently her granddaughter demanded he take the role of Dumbledore. He was perfect for it. Oh well. In regards to The Dark Knight, I understand the reasons for switching to Maggie Gyllenhaal, but the continuity there is annoying, especially for such a great reboot of the franchise.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm there to see the character, not the person playing the character.

Unless 15 years have passed... yeah, it's really annoying.

It's especially annoying when it's a TV series and they've only taken a small break during the summer. And suddenly, during the season premiere, you notice that there's a new guy/girl taking the spot of somebody else, same name but their personalities feel totally different.

Oh yeah, I forgot Marta from Arrested Development. Leonor Varela is hot, and when the chick from the Mummy shows up one episode as her replacement, I got all disappointed.

I completely forgot about Dumbledore, that was horriiiddd. He's absolutely horrible for the part...It's really a shame that Harris passed away.

I mostly agree with most peoples' views on this subject, especially Katie Holmes omission from The Dark Knight.

The reason I have not seen the prequels/sequels of The Silence of the Lambs is because of there being no Jodie Foster. Jodie haters can **** it BTW.

They had a third actress play her in a later episode.

not really, especially when the main character is supposed to be much younger/older
