For me its "needless to say". WTF? If its needless to say why say it?

Basically, what I'm saying is needless to say, needless to say is needless to say.

What about you?

Not really a phase. But whenever someone is talking to you and uses your words with "quotation marks" So you say he "harassed" you? Quotation marks like oh it never really happened, what are you on about, I don't believe. I'd love to say. Oh gee thanks, I can see you've made up your mind before hearing all sides. Very... "professional" of you. But what can you do with a brickwall who's an authority figure. Nothing.

Wow...sounds like there's a story behind this. I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. I can hate it when people are condescending.

But seriously... I know what you mean about when people say, "needless to say". I also don't like it when people say, "I hate to do this, but..." before they do something. If you really hate it, don't do it!

"The internet is serious business!" - To me this phrase implies that you're somehow an idiot if you let the stuff that happens over the internet effect you emotionally. As someone who has conducted a large amount of her social life online, I don't see why things said on the web should be taken less seriously than things said in "real life". Even if you never see a person's face or hear a person's voice, that doesn't mean that your interaction with them won't have a lot of meaning to one or both parties.

"SURPRIZE BUTTSECKS!" - If the punchline of a joke is somebody getting raped, I fail to see the humor in it.

"HERP DERP" - For some reason this one just annoys me. I used it once, but I was using it to insult myself, so I guess that makes it okay? I dunno.

It's not really a phrase, but whenever someone folds their wrist and hits their chest like a mentally challenged person. It's something that people do when you say something obvious or stupid. It doesn't bother me in the political correct sense (I couldn't care less), but it just really pisses me off when someone does that for some reason. I actually punched my sister when I was 14 because she did that.

"I think you need your space." - Basically, this is what people tell you if you're going through a tough time and they don't want to be bothered to deal with you. I would much rather have someone tell me point-blank that they don't want to help me through a crisis, as opposed to them pretending that leaving me on my own is somehow going to make things better.

By that same logic, I also hate the phrases, "This is for your own good," and "You made me do this!" I think some people will say anything to convince themselves that what they're doing is right.

Also (even though these are technically words and not phrases), I hate it when people say "belly" or "tummy". Just call it a freaking stomach.

"like...um...like...um...like...um...like.....um.....like" - Cut that filler crap

"Clay, you're not like 99% of black guys. You are the good kind of black guy." - Really?

"Supposably" - Makes me what to scratch my heart out

"Can I ax you something?" - Absolutely not, you homicidal maniac.

"That's neither here nor there." - Shut up.

"That's my swag/swagger." - Raegsauce

Believe it or not, I am actually impressed that you were able to create one semi-coherent, considering the "like" and "um", sentence that incorporated every single one of my hated phrases.

"But if you look at it in CONTEXT..." - There are many situations in which context can be a legitimate factor in interpreting a situation, but it bugs me when people try to use context to justify anything and everything that's ever happened. "I just read about a man who brutally murdered a poor little girl! What a monster!" "Well, that may seem wrong to us, but if you look at what he did in CONTEXT, you'll realize that he was just following a social convention established by the time and place in which he was raised. And who are we to judge him for that?"

'No offense', just before or after someone says the most offensive thing they can think of. Also, 'just saying'. Hearing this makes me want to pick up the speaker by the throat, rip off their skin and make a light, fashionable shirt from it.

Any meme related phrases being spoken out loud. I don't understand why people think internet memes are funny at all IRL.

"No offense, but..." or "Sorry, but..." are what annoy me. Sometimes people use them properly and it's fine, but usually it's people in arguments trying to make themselves look smart or superior but all it does is annoy.

"Epic Fail" phrase is a fail.

"GG" or "Good Game" phrase when a certain game is about to end. It's stupid IMO unless the game really brought us the fun factor we gamers have always wanted.

"It's time for you to buy your own watch" phrase when I ask a friend for the time. I find it funny at first but that's just getting repetitive.
