I am curious, with the rise of E-Readers such as the Amazon kindle, what the preferred method for reading books, getting a physical copy, or downloading a digital copy?

For me...I am currently reading the Star Wars Lost Tribe Of The Sith E-books (First time ever reading an E-Book...and only because they were free :P)...and while I am enjoying the story, it just is not the same as reading the physical book, for reasons I don't really understand, it just isn't the same...I enjoy physical books more. :P

How about the rest of you?

It is easier to stare at a book for long hours than a computer screen. So I'd go with physical.

As much as I like technology and all of that, I just can't get into e-books. They give me a headache for some reason. I'd much rather read an old-fashioned physical book. It just feels right.

Physical books for the most part. Sometimes it's way easier to have ebooks, though.

I despise e-books. I absolutely need to have the physical copy in my hand; the paper and ink with the paper/plastic/leather/cardboard cover and the weight of it in my hands. I'm like some people are with CDs and mp3 music with my books.

I don't know about headaches, but I have trouble focusing on E-books for as long. The E-book I'm reading now is only like 50 pages long or so...normally I would Finnish that in an hour or two, but I've had it since yesterday, and I'm only on page 15 v.v

Physical books have more worth than data but the advantage of E-Books is that you can bring a lot of books with only one device. Kinda like the difference between a normal PSP and a PSP go. I voted for the last option, though :P

Physical, always. Only twice have I read a novel digitally, Anthem by Ayn Rand and The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain, and now I own The Mysterious Stranger (couldn't find Anthem the other day :x)

Physical for me. I love being able to stare at my bookcase and reminisce about the good times I've had reading the stories in front of me. Also, the e-readers give me a headache.

I would check and see if your library has a good selection...Otherwise it can be quite expensive if you don't already buy books on a regular basis

The price is the main thing holding me back. I buy books frequently though.

Having a lot of experience reading in both forms, I would have to say that I prefer ebooks. The whole e-ink technology makes it just like reading an actual book. But a more lightweight and less spacious book. What's not to like?

tbh the last time i read a book was last year, and the only reason i read it was because this girl i liked, she liked reading, so i read a book she recommended in hopes that it would give me a better chance with her. it didn't work :x

$9.99 seems to be the average price on the Amazon kindle store for my brief glance over it :P

The problem with most people who don't read is that they don't know what kind of books they'd like. They can't walk into a store, read a blurb and go "yep this will do". I've discovered magnificient books and authors doing that. A friend of mine usually just takes my books or the books of other friends and reads them in the hope she will like them. 40% of the time she does, but I've been book shopping with her and she was atrocious at finding anything (apart from fashion and art books).

All people need to have an idea of is what they would like to read about, do a little research, and just get out there.

you had me kinda worried for a second :D, and very few people seem to read much anymore. fun little segue, but I was reading a older book a while back which (among other things) talked about a society keeping an all digital library and it then got corrupted.

I forgot to vote D: By the way, the NJO series isn't that great. They were some of the first books I read though. Although to be fair, I'm more of a high fantasy kind of guy.

To the person above - I've read 6 books in the past 2 weeks...
