What kind of field of EE doesn't require physics. Electricity falls under physics all together.

Make a study group and practice as much as you can. You're going to need physics for most engineering courses, so either gut it out or change majors.

As someone who completed a degree in both EE and Physics, I'd seriously recommend you consider switching majors. If you're really struggling with Intro Physics, you're in for a world of hurt once the fun courses start (Circuit Design, Electromagnetics, Control Systems, etc.)

that's not true ! I haven't take those classes, I don't know if I will like them or not... Calculus is tough but I like it a lot

It's all about choosing the right professor. In your case however, it's a little late for that. There should be tutors at your school, use them.

This. I mean I guess you can take a look at something like Khan Academy or Wolfram Alpha and see if that helps flesh out whatever your prof has been covering, but if you're struggling with an intro course (which is kind of weird in and of itself for someone who is apparently good at math) things aren't going to magically get better down the road.

Physics 1 is hard. Most of my classmates are people taking it for a second time. I'm paranoid about physics but managed to pass my first test. STUDY GROUPS ARE ESSENTIAL TO SURVIVING!

I believe its all about mechanics and dynamics...etc velocity, acceleration, motion, force...etc My advice to TC, go art.

Is this a college course? or just an introductory. We learned that in highschool here, grade 12 covered atomic physics, electricity and circuits, light resistance/wavelength and speed and momentum/impulse with some arc trajectories thrown in.

I'd assume you learn about AC/DC currents, Ohms/Ohms law, coulombs law, electric fields and magnetism soon.

EE? you'll be taking a lot of physics.. the electromagnetism/quantum mechanics stuff will be most important. not so much cleassical mechanics. get used to studying it :P

If you know calculus, physics is pretty straight forward. Most of the laws can be derived from a few. I did hate some of the wave physics, but that may not be big in a 101 course.

Is this your first semester of college? If so, just make it through and one day you'll look back on how easy it was compared to your later courses :P

And as others have said, form a study group and go to your professor's office hours if necessary. Also, Yahoo Answers can be your friend if your homework is online like on Mastering Physics :P

The thing is, the principles you're applying in dynamics are the exact same ones you're going to have to apply to stuff like EPE and magnetic fields when you do get into EE-related material later in the course, so if you can't hack it at one you're not going to be able to hack it at the other. Furthermore you're still dealing with high-school level physics, so just imagine how much more difficult your later courses are going to be.

I guess the silver lining there is the material is simple enough you should be able to find plenty of online help, but if you want to stick with EE you're going to have to put in a hell of a lot more effort.

I had to take Physics 1 with a lab when I started college cause you needed a science and I am in no way anything close to a math or science major and I thought it was fairly interesting. We got to play with vernier calipers. >.>

Start reading your book daily and try to recite the equations into word form, it helps a whole lot.

Just keep trying, also practice up on your calculus.

I suggest a new major. If you find 1st year physics hard, it's only going to snowball from there.

Being a weed out course doesn't make it a more difficult course than upper levels. It's just the time where you're getting used to the grind.

Don't worry. Calc 2,3 and Diff Eq. will be a little more challenging (albeit, still rather tame).
