So I finally picked up Tha Carter III, and maybe this has been talked about (but I didn't see anything specific at a quick glance), so anyway....What do you think?

I'm about ready to call it the best hip hop album ever. Okay Lollipop is / was / still is insane.... Mr. Carter with Jay Z is pretty much an admission by Jay Z that Wayne is the greatest rapper of all time (if Jay thought he was better, why be featured on the self-proclaimed (and verified by millions) greatest rapper alive / ever).

It's got amazing beats by Kanye west (3) and others (Shoot me Down is my favorite).

Mrs. Officer is hilarious... "She makes me want to **** the police". Shoot me Down is the most amazing hip hop song in history...It's crazy... Playing With Fire is just as good.

"Straight Outta Compton" and "It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" are, in my opinion the greatest rap albums of all time. No question.

This has to be a joke thread, right? First off it's easily the worst album he's ever made. He just repeats the same stuff over and over and mumbles things that don't even make sense. And for the record Jay-Z was never even close to being the best rapper.

Out of all Tha Carter albums, the third one was probably his weakest in my opinion. Some good songs, but you can tell those drugs are effin with his mind now. Sometimes he doesnt make any sense in his songs! But its still a pretty good album, 7.5/10.

Best album of all time is pushing it quite a bit, but it is the best album I've heard in a while.

I can listen to the whole thing without having to skip once. We all know that's a rare thing. It's a good mix of club songs (Got Money, Lollipop), love songs, (Comfortable, Mrs Officer), straight up Rap (Mr. Carter, La La, You ain't got Nuthin'), and creative stuff (Phone Home, Dr. Carter, etc).

So, IMO, calling it the best rap album of all time is exaggerating, but saying that the album is anything less than brilliant is just as bad.
