Are you a PC or a Mac?

People who take a question too literally concern me...I am a human.
These people who associate a brand name with their living existence concern me.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Mac OS X, is in fact, FreeBSD/NextSTEP, or as I've recently taken to calling it, FreeBSD plus NextSTEP. Mac OS X is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another flashy hardware accelerated GUI for mouthbreathing idiots obscuring a fully functioning Unix-like system beneath made useful by the BSD/GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the BSD system every day, without realizing it.Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of BSD which is widely used today is often called "Mac OS X" and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the BSD system, developed by the Berkeley CSRG. There really is a Mac OS X, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use
. Mac OS X is the GUI: the program in the system that operates your computer for you if you're too stupid to understand what's going on yourself. The GUI is an inessential part of an operating system, and useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Mac OS X is normally used in combination with the FreeBSD/NextSTEP operating system: the whole system is basically FreeBSD/NextSTEP with **** added, or just FreeBSD/NextSTEP. All the so-called Mac OS X versions are really *** versions of FreeBSD/NextSTEP.

[QUOTE="msudude211"]Switched over to a Mac a couple of years ago, and wow, you don't realize how bad PCs are until you try them both. clyde46I found I prefer Windows more over Mac's since I've been using them at uni. same here i prefer windows especially after windows 7 came out. i prefer mac as my laptop option because of the great expose features and such. you can be much more efficient with a feature like that on a smaller screen.

Thanks, I think (can't tell sarcasm well on the Internet).
The $600 Mac mini is an improvement over my current PC.
E machine. (specs)
2.0 GHz
Ram < 750MB
Full of errors too.
good luck..[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"][QUOTE="dercoo"]

I prefer PCs. The entire "I'm a Mac" ad campaign just makes me want to find a Mac user and strangle them to death w/ their mouse. :x
So you dislike Macs just because of the commercials? :?I prefer PCs. The entire "I'm a Mac" ad campaign just makes me want to find a Mac user and strangle them to death w/ their mouse. :x

I am neither, I am BSD guy, if BSD isn't an option since it's not widely recognized in the consumer market, I guess I am a Linux kernel user. Though Macs are now UNIX, so I kind of like them for that, except their users are rather dumb.
Also to that guy who said Mac OSX isn't an OS... it is an operating system, the kernel and subsystems may be whatever hence Linux Kernel, you don't go calling Ubuntu Linux, or Windows 7 Windows NT.

So, you guys are trannies?
[QUOTE="OrkHammer007"]So you dislike Macs just because of the commercials? :? They are a major contributing factor. Aside from the fact that they tell you nothing about what makes a Mac "superior" (after pricing several of them, and checking their specs against PCs at the same price level, that's debatable), they're the kind of ad I loathe around election time. Maybe it's unfair to bash Mac users for choosing the flashier product, but if they bought one due to that ****** campaign, then they deserve it. :PI prefer PCs. PCs are cheaper, there are more options for OSs than just Windows **(though my preference is Windows 2000; I'd still be using it if companies continued to make games compatible with it), and my A+ cert. means I don't need special courses to fix them without voiding the warranty (unlike Apple).

The only reason you would use a Mac is on a pc, use a hackintosh, they work nicely.I used them both. I never realized how good PCs are until I did.[QUOTE="McJugga"][QUOTE="msudude211"]Switched over to a Mac a couple of years ago, and wow, you don't realize how bad PCs are until you try them both. jeremiah06
